Walking - Anglesey Coastal Path

Coastal path AngleseyAnglesey Coastal Path is a 125 mile circular route around the largest island in Wales. 95% of the path passes through a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty as it links the Island’s 27 beautiful beaches. The landscape includes a mixture of farmland, coastal heath, dunes, salt-marsh, foreshore, cliffs and a few small pockets of woodland.

Some try to do the whole coast in one season, whilst others take a more leisurely approach by completing one section at a time. The path is well-signposted throughout and includes many highlights, some of which are listed below.

Holyhead Mountain (highest point on the island), South Stack lighthouse and sea cliffs, sea arches at Bwa Gwyn (Rhoscolyn), Ynys y Fydlyn (Carmel Head), and Porth Wen, Llanddwyn Island, Menai Suspension bridge, Britannia Bridge, Llangwyfan (Aberffraw) Llanbadrig and St Tysilio churches in Porthaethwy, Cemlyn Nature Reserve, Penmon Point and Priory.
