Walks around Llyn Brenig, North Wales

Llyn Brenig is a must visit when you're in this part of North Wales. There are numerous footpaths and trails suitable for all ages and abilities making it a prefect day out for everyone. You will be surrounded by wild heather moors, lakes, woodlands, and amazing views over Snowdonia and Clwyd valleys. The marked trails are:

The Alwen Trail – This is a 7 mile walk around the reservoir that can either be walked or you could also try your hand at biking

A walk through time – Here you can explore prehistoric remains found in the 1970s starting from the north of the lake. The longer route is only suitable for the more experienced walkers amongst you.

Llyn Brenig – This is a 9.5 mile walk that takes you around the lake to the nature reserve.

The Hiaethog Trail – This is the longest route where you start off in the village of Pentrefoelas going over the moorlands at Hiraethog and ending up in the village of Llanrheadr near Denbigh.
