Fishing on Lake Vyrnwy
Lake Vyrnwy, Mid Wales offers great days out for the whole family. Ranging from fishing to cycling, watersports to walking and bird watching, there is something to suit everyone.
Fly fishing at Lake Vyrnwy started in 1818 after the lake was flooded and stocked with 40,000 Loch Leven brown trout. This reservoir is the world’s second oldest manmade trout fishery. Today fishing is for wild brown and stocked brown and rainbow trout, ensuring good sport throughout the season. There are 10 boats on the lake, quietly powered by electric engines.
