Gorffwysfa ('place to rest') is an eco-friendly, luxury cottage on the stunning Llŷn Peninsula, North Wales. Situated on a quiet side street in the tiny village of Aberdaron, it is also designed as a disabled holiday accommodation. Visitors can enjoy a magnificent mile long sandy beach, the ancient Pilgrim Church of St Hywyn, shops and friendly pubs serving local food. Perfectly situated to enjoy local attractions e.g. unspoilt beaches, Caernarfon Castle, Porthmadog Steam Railway, Portmeirion and the famous golf course at Nefyn.
Ground Floor
Stunning light and airy open plan living area with superbly appointed kitchen - American Fridge Freezer, Range Master cooker, dishwasher and combi microwave. Comprehensive range of cookware, crockery and cutlery. Adjacent to the kitchen area is a spacious dining area with extendable solid wood table - sits up to 12.
The lounge area has three leather settees around wood burning stove, overlooking a sheltered patio. There is a sound system and pictures by local artists as well as many books about the Llŷn. The house has Wi-Fi access and a telephone can be made available on request.
The conservatory has views over open country, 2 settees and is adjacent to a large and well furnished patio ideal for soaking up the afternoon and evening sun or enjoying a barbeque.
4 bedrooms all with en suite shower, washbasin and WC, a heated towel rail and shaver point. The beds can be configured as either a super king size or as two separate single beds.
The four bedrooms have been inspired by local beauty spots - Ynys Enlli (Bardsey Island), Uwchmynydd (wonderful panoramic views), Dinllaen (where the famous pub on the beach is found) and Y Rhiw (with glorious views as far as Snowdon). Each room also has its own Freeview TV and DVD player.
*The whole building has been designed as a disabled holiday accommodation with easy access to all the living areas. Ynys Enlli Bedroom is completely wheelchair friendly and includes a wet room shower.
Separate WC, washbasin and shower room off the main hallway and next door to a laundry and drying room. A boot dryer is provided here where muddy clothes, boots or wetsuits can be removed and guests can shower before they access the main house. The laundry room also has a washing machine, dryer and steam iron.

Gorffwysfa cottage is situated off a quiet road in Aberdaron - a beautiful seaside village at the very tip of the Lleyn Peninsula in North Wales. Known as “The Land’s End of Wales” it boasts a magnificent mile long sandy beach, the ancient Pilgrim Church of St Hywyn, shops and two pubs with excellent food.
The Llyn is designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Seals and dolphins and all manner of birdlife are plentiful. Bardsey Island, a former site of religious pilgrimage, is 2 miles off-shore and the owners can arrange a boat trip for you. The owners also hire cycles for touring the quiet lanes of this beautiful rural area.
There are numerous other activities in the area as well, including fishing, horse-riding, golf and Glasfryn Parc where you can enjoy go-karting, ten-pin bowling, archery etc. Plas Glyn-y-Weddw, a magnificent Manor with galleries, beautiful gardens and tea room with sea views is well worth a visit, whilst Ffestiniog Railway, castles and the Italian village of Portmeirion are all nearby.
The Lleyn Peninsula, where the Welsh language and way of life still flourish, is renowned for its beautiful beaches and water sport. With nearly 100 miles of stunning coastline, an array of hills of varying height inland plus the majestic mountains of Snowdonia on your doorstep, it’s also a great place to come for a walking holiday.
