Reviews

The steep but well surfaced road is an interesting introduction to this remote and historical village and takes you away from the hustle and bustle of modern life into a peaceful world of relaxed existence which is so difficult to find these days.

Mr J,

The accommodation was very basic, the bathrooms felt like we were in a hostel they were so basic. The accommodation was very tired and definitely not the 4* rating you gave it. The location was amazing. We have previously booked with original cottages so would consider booking with you again. You definitely need to check the properties before giving 4* ratings

Mrs Ruth K,

Lovely location but getting to the beach was quite a struggle. Shame the cafe does not open earlier so guests could have breakfast. Small bits of maintenance required in cottage - upstairs toilet kept running and window in front, single bedroom wouldn't open but you should be proud of what has been achieved from ruins. Would love to see a map/model showing where the old road was and if any of your old photos could be overlayed onto current pictures to get a better sense of how it was and where

Mrs Helen T,

The Cutlery and cutlery tray were not clean and had to be cleaned upon arrival There were ants in the property The floors had clumps of dust in the corners But however the towels, bedding and bathrooms were very clean which out weighed everything else

Mr Mark E,

Great stay, stunning location, and fantastic staff on site. Diolch yn fawr iawn.

Miss Enfys O,

Map

Located in the unique and secluded Victorian village of Nant Gwrtheyrn accommodation at Llandaf cottage offers the perfect setting for your sea-side holiday. Walking distance to a private beach, Llandaf stands in a row of quarryman’s cottages with great views over the lawn and out to sea. There is plenty of scenic seating with picnic tables dotted around the grounds and the lovely café on site is also a great bonus.

This magical village called Nant Gwrtheyrn (or ‘the Nant’ as it is often called) is a former quarrying village on the northern coast of the Llyn Peninsula in North Wales. It is an attraction in its own right, with a Heritage Centre on site which houses displays about the Welsh language and culture, as well as the history of the village. This includes a period house set in a Victorian quarry community and information about the unique wildlife which can be discovered in this remote coastal valley and beach.

Residential Welsh courses are also offered at Nant Gwrtheyrn throughout the year and you can experience Welsh culture and heritage first hand, here on the coast of the beautiful Llyn Peninsula. It is also a great venue for a family get-together, a celebration or a wedding. The nearest shop and pub can be found 1 mile away in the village of Llithfaen and some of the recommended places to eat include Caffi Meinir (on site), Nanhoron in Nefyn (5 miles) and The Ship Inn in Edern (7 miles).

The Llyn Peninsula is a designated area of outstanding natural beauty, full of hidden treasures that are just waiting to be discovered. Some of the other ‘must see’ attractions include the pub on the beach in Porthdinllaen, the beautiful seaside village of Aberdaron, endless sandy beaches and the sacred Bardsey Island. Not to mention Glasfryn Parc for a fun day out (go karts, ten pin bowling etc) Caernarfon Castle, Snowdon (the highest mountain in Wales), Llanberis Electric Mountain and Llanberis Slate Museum.
