Charming Aberdovey self catering cottage just a 2 minute walk from the long sandy beach, cafes, restaurants and pubs. Aberdovey (correctly spelt Aberdyfi) is a small, picturesque resort - ideal for family holidays and perfect for relaxing. Enjoy a round of golf, boat trips and fishing trips from the harbour, or try your hand at watersports such as canoeing, sailing and windsurfing. This cosy holiday cottage in Aberdovey has a sunny front terrace and landscaped patio areas in the rear garden, all offering beautiful views of the Dyfi estuary and hills.
This homely Aberdovey self catering holiday cottage has an open plan living/dining/kitchen area with attractive curtains between living and dining areas which can be closed for cosy effect.
Living room is tastefully furnished with comfortable seating for five around a log burner effect dimplex fire (fireplace is purely decorative). Ample side tables and throws are provided for the comfort of guests. LCD TV with Freeview & BT Vision and DVD player. Also heated by a new, energy efficient wall-mounted electric heater.
Dining room includes cottage-style dining table with matching chairs for six. Decorative display rack acts as divider between dining room and kitchen.
Open plan kitchen very well-equipped with twin-oven Belling electric stove, dishwasher, fridge-freezer, microwave oven, toaster, kettle, cafetière, good quality pans and cookware.
Kitchen annexe includes automatic washing machine, ironing board, iron, drying rack, vacuum cleaner, cool box for picnics etc.
Upstairs – First Floor
Bedroom 1 - Light, spacious and tastefully furnished & decorated. This room is at the front of this Aberdovey self catering cottage and has a king size bed and ample hanging and drawer space. Blackout roller blinds are fitted to the windows.
Bedroom 2 - Light, spacious and attractively furnished & decorated. This room is at the back of the cottage and has a double bed (accessed from one side) and ample hanging space and drawers. A blackout roller blind is fitted to the window.
Lovely modern bathroom with power shower over bath, heated towel rail and shaver socket. Heated by newly installed wall mounted electric heater. Sturdy support handle fitted to wall near shower.
Bedroom 3 - Delightful loft bedroom with double bed, wardrobe and chest of drawers all in matching pine. Large Velux skylight in roof with a safety bar fitted across the window.
Please note that because this room is a loft conversion, the ceilings are sloping and low in places. Also, the stairs leading up to this room are steep and narrow. This room is therefore only suitable for adults and older teenagers. A security gate is fixed to the bottom of the stairs.
Pretty and sunny front terrace with tables and chairs and a wooden bench. Beautiful views of estuary and hills. Wonderful for sitting / eating outside this charming holiday cottage, Aberdovey at any time of the day.
Small back yard paved in Welsh slate with potted plants and retractable washing line.
Side access passage which belongs to neighbour who kindly allows guests to use to dry washing.
This Aberdovey self catering also has a rear patio garden recently landscaped using beautiful Welsh slate. Patios on two levels with stunning views over the Dyfi estuary. Garden areas creatively designed and planted with aromatic flowering plants and medicinal herbs which have been carefully chosen to maximise pollination. Garden furniture (three tables and ample seating) along with sensor and solar lighting.
Please note that access to the rear gardens are via steep steps with sturdy handrails on both sides.

Parking label for one car provided. The label allows free parking for 12 hours each day in either of the two Pay & Display car parks in Aberdyfi (2 minute walk, where overnight parking is free).
There are four well-maintained steps from road to gently-sloping ramp leading up to the cottage.

Tips - Walk up the hills locally for amazing views. Pharaoh's Bistro was fantastic to eat out (book in advance) and the cafe on the corner of Copperhill Street do lovely breakfasts and lunches too. Highly recommend the steam railway from Aberystwyth to Devil's Bridge for breathtaking views too.

This delightful Aberdovey self catering cottage is situated on a quiet street with wonderful estuary views from the cottage and its gardens. Only a 2 minute walk from sea front, long sandy beach, local shops, restaurants and pubs.
Suitable for visitors without a car as there are good local bus and train services. Local taxi service available for pick up from Aberdyfi station and it’s also possible to walk from the station using wheeled luggage (approx ten minute walk).
On the doorstep of your holiday cottage, Aberdovey offers a wide variety of activities including water sports, walking, golf, fishing, adventure activities, horse riding and bird watching. Also in the area are narrow-gauge railways, Portmeirion village, castles at Cricieth, Caernarfon & Harlech and The Centre for Alternative Technology.

Bearded Lake Walk - This 10 mile walk will take you up into the hills behind Aberdyfi to Bearded Lake. 0 miles - just turn left from the front door.
Dyfi Valley Way follows the River Dyfi from the estuary in Aberdyfi to the source at the summit of Aran Fawddwy and back down along the south side of the river via Machynlleth and down to Borth. Maps and guides can be obtained at the Tourist Information Centre in Aberdyfi. 0.2 miles from cottage.
Cadair Idris (mountain walk) – nearest route starts from Llanfihangel-y-Pennant and climbs steadily on the southern section of the pony path. 10 miles to summit – graded moderate/hard. 14 miles from cottage
Watersports in Aberdyfi includes sailing, sail boarding, rowing, canoeing, fishing and boat trips. 0.2 miles
