Reviews

Incredible cottage, beautiful location, really friendly hosts. I cannot recommend it highly enough!

Mr S,

As per other reviews it proved to be an excellent property, very well equipped and in a great location for exploring. So it's difficult to add much to what has been said before in praise of the house and we would definitely return. Our time there was split only by the weather as it was very wet and windy most days but it was December! And the house was always warm to return to. We had been wary of having underfloor heating in that would it be warm enough but it certainly was in spite of the weather. With one of us having limited mobility we noted that access was very good, from memory there was just one step up from the outside and then level throughout. It was also good to see power points part-way up the walls rather than having to bend down. For walkers / drivers there was a good supply of local information including OS maps (to be left there obviously) which was a great touch. All in all, very good.

Mr C,

An absolutely gorgeous and well equipped cottage. Can highly recommend. No shortage of anything. Tv's in every room and wifi was very good. Would love to return.

Ms W,

Bwthyn Bryn yr Aber is a fantastic 5 star property. Immaculate, really spacious and beautifully appointed, with everything you need for a great stay including a lovely welcome pack. We stayed in November and the property was as warm as toast in every room, with continuous hot water too. It has gorgeous views from the property and it is also really well situated for visiting the many attractions of North Wales or walking straight from the door. The owners are very friendly and have thought of everything that you might need while on holiday. I can't recommend this property enough.

Miss S,

Amazing place, amazing property!

Past Customer,

A perfect bungalow in a wonderful location with very friendly hosts, even the dog welcomed us back one day. Fresh air, peace and quiet, stunning scenery what more could we ask for, Not even the the weather- blustery winds frequent showers, misty mornings could spoil the magic it just created an ever changing mood to the landscape could spoil the magic, the sheep, the entertaining lams and the sunny periods were an added bonus. One beautiful week in our lives, a retreat thank you.

Map

Enjoy tranquil, rural surroundings at this detached, contemporary cottage. Just 1 mile from the welcoming market town of Bala - home to the largest natural lake in Wales called Llyn Tegid (Bala Lake) that can be seen from the elevated grounds surrounding your cottage. Bala also offers a whole range of amenities, including a variety of shops, a convenience store and small supermarket, banks and a garage. There is also a traditional cinema and a Leisure Centre which includes a fitness room, indoor swimming pool and a slide. Not to mention a steam train that runs along Bala Lake Railway through beautiful Snowdonia scenery.

The town of Bala offers numerous cafes, pubs and restaurants such as Plas yn Dre , White Lion Hotel, Plas Coch, Y Cwrt and Bala Spice. Amongst the best places to eat in the area is Pale Hall restaurant (3.5 miles) - an old stately home and a fantastic building, the Michelin star Tyddynllan restaurant in Llandrillo (6.5 miles) and Lake Vyrnwy restaurant (14 miles along a scenic mountain road). For a really good village pub / restaurant, visit the Eagles Inn in Llanuwchllyn (5.5 miles), or Bryntirion Inn, Llandderfel (3.5 miles) for a real ale pub.

If you enjoy the outdoors, this is the area for you because Bala and the surrounding area is firmly establishing itself as the 'adventure' capital of Wales. From world class watersports provision on Bala Lake (canoeing, sailing, windsurfing and gorge walking) and the National White Water Centre (5 miles) to a high speed go-carting circuit in Cerrigydrudion (12 miles). You also have the famous Zip Wire and Bounce Below in Blaenau Ffestiniog (22 miles) and numerous other attractions such as Tree Tops Adventure in Betws y Coed and Coed y Brenin's world renowned Mountain Biking Centre all within easy reach.

If you prefer to relax on holiday, there are numerous picturesque mountain and lakeside walks nearby, not to mention the scenic cycle route along the shores of Llyn Tegid lake. And why not treat yourself to a night out with popcorn in the local cinema? Your Bala holiday cottage also provides a great central base to explore the whole of Snowdonia and North Wales. Llechwedd Slate Caverns (22 miles), Portmeirion (29 miles) and the Welsh Highland Railway (30 miles) are just some of many highly recommended days out.
