Bwthyn y Llyn is located on a spectacular, private and peaceful estate near the head of the picturesque Vale of Ffestiniog and offers a welcoming self catering in Snowdonia National Park. From an underground journey to mountain biking (secure bike storage on site) and quad biking, from rock-climbing to tree top adventures and even llama trekking, this area has plenty of fun, unique experiences to keep everyone entertained.

Part of a magnificent 200 year old Manor House that was originally home to the owner of a local slate mine, the cottage enjoys access to all 9 acres of grounds and offers spectacular views of the grounds with the Moelwyn mountain range serving as a dramatic backdrop on the horizon. Central to northern and southern Snowdonia and just 10 miles to the nearest beach at Morfa Bychan near Porthmadog.

Ground Floor

The fully equipped kitchen includes a fridge/freezer and dishwasher, gas cooker, microwave and a moveable island. Beautiful garden views and a door leading directly out to the front patio area.

The living / dining room offers an inviting 3-piece suite around a freeview TV and DVD player, nest of tables and a coal effect gas fire. Dining table with 6-chairs and 2 large windows providing beautiful views of the grounds.

Shower room with wash hand basin, WC, shower and heated towel rail.

Upstairs

Double bedroom with a wardrobe, chest of drawers/dressing table, bedside cabinets and radio/ipod docking station. Window seat to admire the wonderful garden views.

Second bedroom with 3 standard size single beds (or a super king size bed and 1 single on request). Furnished with a wardrobe, chest of drawers, bedside cabinets and dressing-table. Beautiful garden views.

The bathroom features an elevated corner bath and a picture window overlooking the grounds, along with a WC and wash hand basin.

9 acres of spectacular grounds with plenty of tables and chairs to relax and enjoy the private, peaceful surroundings. Your self catering in Snowdonia National Park offers extensive lawns, a beautiful lake, woodland and a 3 acre river valley which forms part of a conservation area.

  • Bwthyn y Llyn is one of two holiday cottages that are part of this magnificent building. If booked together Bwthyn y Llyn and Clochdy can accommodate up to 15 guests. There is also enough space in the cottage next door for a second table and extra chairs in the dining room if the whole group wants to dine together.
