“A very relaxing stay and everything worked perfectly.”

A lovely cottage with everything one could need in good working order. Except make sure you do bring you own towels including tea towels. Lovely and warm cottage (it was February).

Lovely location, handy for great beaches and spectacular coastline. St Davids has great coffee places and pubs.

“Very enjoyable and relaxing”

The cottage was very nice and relaxing, set on a farm in the middle of the countryside only a short drive to St Davids and Whitesands beach. My husband and I both thoroughly enjoyed our stay and so did our two dogs who had plenty of walks in the fields and trips to the many stunning beaches nearby. We would recommend this cottage to others. The owners were friendly and welcomed us with a bottle of wine and flowers. The cottage is decoratedly nicely and we enjoyed staying there.

“Handy location and well laid out comfy cottage.”

One of the best things about Ysgubor is that it is a fantastic base for St Davids and the coast path - and it is a really cosy cottage to return to at the end of the day.

I have to admit I was a little daunted when we drove up the lane towards the farm; it was a rainy day and we weren't entirely sure we were going to the right place, although the directions were spot on. A sign on the entrance would help a little (although there was a sign on the cottage itself). Once we knew we were in the right place we got a lovely welcome from our host and the cottage was just right for us: plenty of room, a nice kitchen diner and a living room with more than enough room for four adults and a toddler to relax. It was cosy and warm as well.

The cottage is just a few minutes drive from St Davids and a couple of fields from the coast path. It is a lovely stretch of coast, ideal for walkers and for sea fishing. We would stay there again.

“An ideal retreat”

Very clean, very welcoming and very enjoyable. Good location - easy walking distance to coastal path and a short drive to St Davids and beaches. Easily enough to keep you busy for at least a week, especially when the weather is sunny.

This cottage was comfortable and cosy and provided an excellent base to explore Pembrokshire. It is just a short walk from the coastal path where we saw baby seals, we were thrilled. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend this cottage and it's locations. Fab!

Ysgubor was a very well appointed, holiday let. We were made to feel very welcome when we arrived and all our questions about the location, farm etc.during the week were answered very good humouredly. The location was perfect for walking along the cliffs to various places and shpping in St. Davids was very easy. All in all a very good holiday.

Ysgubor was perfect location for us, we were able to make the most of the lovely weather and explore the coastal path and the wonderful city of St Davids. The cottage was also a perfect base to explore Pembrokeshire as we travelled down to Freshwater the one day and up to Fishguard the next. Megan and Dewi loved seeing the farm animals and we all cant wait to return.

Great accommodation provided in this spacious barn conversion - really well kitted out and the owners will try and help if there's anything you need for your baby. You have your own enclosed garden (perfect to enjoy a nice glass of wine in the evening sunshine after a busy day on the beach). The farm animals were a great source of fun for children. There's lots of things to do in St Davids which is such a peaceful and beautiful place to visit...

Ysgubor dog friendly holiday cottage in St Davids is set on a working farm, 2 miles to the north of Britain's smallest city. The farm stretches down to the famous Pembrokeshire coastal path, and numerous cycle routes run nearby.

St Davids is a beautiful and unique city situated within Pembrokeshire Coast National Park and is surrounded by some of the finest coastline in Europe. Granted city status by Queen Elizabeth II because of the presence of the cathedral, St Davids is in reality a small beautiful village. Many people have fallen to the charm of St Davids including current New Zealand rugby Coach Graham Henry who refers to St Davids as his favourite place in the World.

Managed and maintained by the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds Ramsey Island lies only a mile off-shore. Teaming with birdlife on it and sealife around it the island is definitely worth a visit. Boat trips including trips to the Island and Dolphin and Whale watching can be booked in St Davids.

Walking

Pembrokeshire Coastal Path. Join this beautiful path just 0.5 miles from the doorstep by simply walking across 3 fields from Ysgubor holiday cottage in St Davids.

Beaches

Whitesands Bay - This blue-flagged beach is popular with families because of its safe swimming and clean white sand. Also regarded as one of Wales’ top surf-spots. 2 miles

Caerfai Bay – Lovely sandy, sheltered beach - perfect for families. 2.8 miles

Newgale - Magnificent two mile long stretch of wide flat sand with a huge pebble bank behind it. Powerful swells roll in here at all times of the year. 9.2 miles

Caerbwdi Beach – Beautiful rocky beach perfect for snorkelling. The rocks here are red sandstone and it is from here that the rock was quarried for St Davids Cathedral. 3.1 miles

Fishing

There is trout fishing on site in the farm pond (stocked with rainbow trout) 0 miles.

For sea fishing, only a short walk from the cottage there are many coves and rocky marks that provide superb Sea fishing, including some of the best Bass fishing in the UK. 0.5 miles.

Solva Boat Trips - Fishing and Sightseeing trips from Solva Harbour. 5.4 miles

Cycling

National Cycle Route 4 (or NCR 4) is only a short distance form the cottage and actually runs from London to Fishguard. Mainly on quiet country roads. 0.3 miles.

For off road cycling Llys-Y-Fran is a large country park just outside Haverfordwest. 27 miles

Water Sports

TYF Adventure includes canoeing, kayaking, coastering and much more. 2.4 miles

Golf

St Davids City Golf Club is one of three distinctive nine-hole gems that exist along the twenty-mile stretch of the North Pembrokeshire coast. 2.2 miles

Pony trekking

St Davids Trekking provides horse riding in the St Davids area on a Gypsy Vanner, passing through valleys and meadows for a paddle in the sea or a splash in the river. 2.8 miles

A half mile walk across the farmer's land takes you to the beautiful Pembrokeshire Coastal Path that runs along the rugged high cliffed coast of the northern edge of the beautiful St Davids peninsula. The cottage is also close to Blue Flag rated Whitesands beach.

Ground Floor

Ysgubor dog friendly holiday cottage has a large kitchen/dining room with high quality fitted units and a ‘family sized’ table that will seat six people in comfort. The kitchen is equipped with a four-burner gas hob with extractor fan above, electric oven and grill, microwave, kettle and toaster, refrigerator with freezer compartment, washing machine, iron and ironing board. There is ample crockery, cutlery and glassware (even picnic ware!) plus pots and pans and a variety of kitchen tools.

The living room has two large two-seater settees, wide-screen television with Freeview box, DVD and video players, CD/radio/cassette player plus a good selection of books and games. Ysgubor holiday cottage in St Davids retains some original features and is decorated with works by local artists and art depicting the local area.

Upstairs

Two cosy bedrooms, one twin and one double.

The bathroom is located between the bedrooms and has tiled walls and floor, a bath with overhead pressurised shower, W.C. and wash-hand basin.

Garden

Private, fully enclosed patio area with wooden picnic table and chairs, shallow steps lead to a grassed area with clothes drying line.

Guests staying at Ysgubor holiday cottage in St Davids are welcome to walk through the farm's land to join the path, just three fields away. There is also a farm pond, stocked with rainbow trout, if guests would like to bring their fishing rods.
