Reviews

Ger Y Bont offers spacious and comfortable accommodation suitable for family gatherings. Its a great house for good access to the rugged cliffs and coves of Holy Island, the beaches of Anglesey and also the mountains and coastal towns of North Wales. Tip top!

Mr K,

A wonderful cottage in a beautiful location. First visit to Anglesey and will definitely return. Lots of beautiful beaches and sheltered coves and great places to eat out.The views from the balcony are lovely, bird spotting and plane spotting from RAF Valley. Binoculars or telescope a must. The cottage had all the equipment you could possibly need was very clean and comfortable. A generous welcome pack on our arrival after a long journey was great thank you. Would love to return to this cottage.

Mr H,

Beautiful home. Amazing design and gorgeous fixtures, fittings and furnishings. Our home from home for a week in our favourite place. Lots of great days out and even 2 trips to the beach at Rhoscolyn and Newborough. Lots of memories recreated and new ones made. Thank you.

Previous Customer,

Very spacious and comfortable property with picture perfect views. An enjoyable stay for both the younger and the older members of our party. Would highly recommend.

Mrs L,

A lovely property which accommodated our 7 family members (5 adults and 2 children) very comfortably indeed! Bedrooms were spacious with three king sized beds and a twin room. Bed linen was crisp and clean and towels provided were pristine and the furniture modern and smart. The bathrooms were beautifully appointed and the ensuite, though small was a welcome addition. It could however be improved further with the addition of a shelf for storage of wash bags, cosmetics, towel rails or hooks and a shaving mirror too. The kitchen was wonderful for self catering purposes with plentiful crockery and cutlery, pans too, although a few non stick pans and definitely more wooden spoons and sharp knives would help with food preparation! The lounge space was comfortable and perfect for relaxing after a day exploring Anglesey with amazing views of the estuary and interest provided throughout the day from aircraft of RAF Valley. Possibly adding more children’s board games would be appreciated for rainy day activities ‘at home’? Really enjoyed our stay at ‘Ger y Bont ‘ looking to book again in 2024!

Mr B,

Brilliant house...lovely views and a great position to explore the island. Mostly great weather, so fun times on Rhoscolyn, Rhosneigr and Newborough Sands Beaches with paddle boards and frisbees! Went to Plas Newydd again - mainly to see the most romantic painting/mural and managed to get a talk on it after a request from another visitor. Good food, great wine, wonderful company...Marvellous!!!

Mrs B,

Lovely clean spacious and comfortable house in a convenient location. Well equipped kitchen. Highly recommended

Mrs Janet N,

The house was lovely very well equipped and very clean. The views were beautiful. Thought the water was nearer than it was but this wasent a problem. Would definitely stay again

Mrs Debra B,

Excellent accommodation very spacious lovely views ver clean

Miss Julie W,

The property was lovely clean and well equipped however we were disappointed with the welcome pack which contained one sachet of coffee no tea and every condiment was out of date, by over 12 months. It is also worth phrasing more accurately that the property has a sea view due to it being tidal for a very short time each day as we felt quite let down that we couldn’t see it when we arrived until the following day.

Mr Liam R,

Lovely well kept property. Very well equipped for all needs. Great location for local coastal walks. Booking was straight forward and easy with regular updates

Mrs Nita B,

Wonderful property, beautifully decorated and well equipped. The location was quiet and we could go for walks straight from the property. Ideal for exploring Ynys Môn. The closure of the Menai Bridge meant trips to the mainland took over an hour but this meant we spent more time on the island. Would definitely recommend this property.

Mrs Lorraine C,

Map

Located in the pretty village of Pont Rhyd-y-Bont (Four Mile Bridge), this beautiful, detached property is within a 100 yards of the Cymyran Strait and a bridge that connects the Isle of Anglesey with Holy Island. Often referred to as the Inland Sea, the ebb and tide provides an ever-changing display of nature that creates what is almost a lagoon when the tide is in.

Situated on the Anglesey side of the bridge, between Valley (1 mile) and Trearddur Bay (2 miles), Ger y Bont offers mountain and 'Inland' sea views from the living areas, balcony, rear bedrooms and garden. Access the Wales Coast Path a few steps away from the doorstep, as well as the 'lagoon' which is ideal for swimming, fishing, sailing or sail/paddle boarding.

The nearest shops can be found in the village of Valley with a range of shops including two groceries, post office, chemist and butcher. There is also a tea room, two fish and chips shops, pizza takeaway and Chinese takeaway. Some of the best restaurants in the area include Anchorage Hotel at Four Mile Bridge (0.5 mile), Catch 22 (brasserie restaurant), Valley Hotel and Bull Hotel in Valley (1 mile), Sea Shanty and Black Seal in Trearddur Bay (2 miles) and White Eagle in Rhoscolyn (2 miles). The Anchorage Hotel is also ideal for a relaxing drink.

Some of the main attractions nearby include the two stunning beaches at Trearddur Bay and Rhoscolyn, Cartio Môn go-carting (3.5m), Breakwater Country Park and a cinema in Holyhead (6.5m) and South Stack Lighthouse (7.5m). Some of the other highly recommended days out on Anglesey includes Beaumaris with its World Heritage castle and gaol, glorious Blue Flag beaches, as well as Llanddwyn Island, steeped in history and legend and closely associated with the Patron Saint for lovers in Wales, Saint Dwynwen.

For younger visitors Pili Palas’ butterfly centre offers a magical experience and also features birds, snakes and other exotic species. Anglesey Sea Zoo, Wales’ biggest aquarium offers an amazing world of marine life, shipwrecks and shark pool grids. The short bridge crossing to mainland North Wales offers even more family attractions including Greenwood Forest Park, Gypsy Forest, Hwylfan Fun Centre and so much more.
