Reviews

Lovely cottage. Very relaxing! Beach not far and Valley a short drive away.

Mr D,

Beautiful cottage lovely views all round. Nice and peaceful will stay there again.

Mrs H,

Plas Bach is a super, comfortable cottage in such a special location. If peace, walks and being close to the sea is what you are looking for, Plas Bach ticks all the boxes. The owners are extremely helpful and approachable and obviously care a great deal about their property to ensure guests have a lovely time. We will certainly hope to return.

Mrs H,

The property would benefit from being slightly better equipped in terms of kitchen utensils (slotted spoon for example) Also, whilst there were leaflets, it would have been good to have an info pack, with recommendations

Mr Tony H,

The information on the website was accurate and probably didn't need enlarging, however, we felt that we needed to know more about how the property was heated and a couple of other questions, probably too minor to be considered before booking. The cottage is superbly equipped, in a wonderful location and for guests looking for peace and quiet absolutely perfect. Fully intend to return at some point in the future as we felt this property was a real find and in a particularly lovely part of the island.

Mr Trevor H,

Map

Traditional Welsh cottage in an idyllic location, just 200 yards from the water's edge of Cymyran Strait, looking across from the Isle of Anglesey to Holy Island. It enjoys its own very private location set within 5 acres of land consisting of small paddocks with cut lawns to front and rear. The property is reached over a rugged track and then across the occasionally tidal foreshore. Just a few minutes' walk and beyond the tidal foreshore are sandy beaches, ideal for swimming, fishing, sailing or sail/paddle boarding, access to rockpools and shoreline for shrimping/prawning. Surrounding the property is open farmland, providing some fine walks along public footpaths.

Nearest shops are just one mile away in the village of Valley with a range of shops including two groceries, post office, chemist and butcher. There is also a tea room, two fish and chips shops, pizza takeaway and Chinese takeaway. Some of the best restaurants in the area include Catch 22 (brasserie restaurant), Valley Hotel and Bull Hotel in Valley, as well as Anchorage Hotel at Four-Mile-Bridge (1.5m), Sea Shanty and Black Seal in Trearddur Bay (3.5m) and Langdons in Holyhead Marina (6m). Amongst the main attractions nearby, you have Cartio Môn go-carting (3.5m), Breakwater Country Park and a cinema in Holyhead (7m) and South Stack Lighthouse (8m). Some of the other highly recommended days out on Anglesey includes Beaumaris with its World Heritage castle and gaol, glorious Blue Flag beaches, as well as Llanddwyn Island, steeped in history and legend and closely associated with the Patron Saint for lovers in Wales, Saint Dwynwen.

For younger visitors Pili Palas’ butterfly centre offers a magical experience and also features birds, snakes and other exotic species.
