“It was snowing. It was always snowing at Christmas; December, in my memory, is white as Lapland, though there were no reindeers.”

Isn’t it strange how it always seemed to snow in December when we were children? If you have never read A Child’s Christmas in Wales by Dylan Thomas, one of Wales’ best known poets, then read it this Christmas. Who knows? It might even encourage you to plan a holiday to Wales this winter. 2014 happens to be the centenary of the birth of Dylan Thomas and lots of events have been planned around South Wales. Best of Wales has a good choice of beautiful 4 and 5 star holiday properties, conveniently located so that you can get involved in what’s going on. We even have one charming cottage, Bwthyn y Bardd (The Poet’s Cottage) in the village of Llansteffan – Dylan Thomas actually stayed in this cottage! Opportunities like that don’t come along every day now, do they? You can find details of this cottage and several others in the area, by going to www.bestofwales.co.uk or by giving us a call on 01650 51110.
