Meet the Team

Name - Gareth Mahoney

Role - Co-founder / South And West Wales Property manager.

Background - Gareth graduated from Aberystwyth University and following that worked within the IT and Media industry. Having previously worked for ITV and Cardiff University Gareth runs our South Wales office in Abercynon. Gareth enjoys the outdoors and being as active as possible. He used to enjoy playing rugby but these days is a keen runner and cyclist and follower of Pontypridd RFC.



Name - Llion Pughe

Role - Co-founder / Mid and North Wales Property manager. 

Background - Llion graduated with a Masters Degree in Entrepreneurship in 2002 and has worked in business, marketing and tourism ever since. He established Best of Wales in 2009 with his co-director, Gareth Mahoney. Llion lives on the family farm near Machynlleth, where Best of Wales' Mid Wales office is located. His interests include rugby, keeping fit (if there's a chance!), walking, farming and of course - going on the occasional holiday with the family to different parts of Wales getting new experiences.

Name - Suzanne Cole

Role - Customer Care and Relationship Manager

Background - Suzanne began working in the family engineering business and then started her own business. On the sale of the business she developed a career as a Senior Lecturer in the University of South Wales, Swansea and Aberystwyth. She lives in South Wales, plays golf, walks and travels particularly to see great sea views.

Name - Lisa Jones

Role - Marketing Manager

Background - Lisa graduated from Trinity College Carmarthen with a BA in Tourism and Sports Studies in 2004, since then she has worked in the tourism industry and joined the Best of Wales team in 2014. Lisa lives in Llandeilo and enjoys walking, travelling, running and exploring Wales.

Name - Mairi Highman

Role - Customer Service and Administration Coordinator

Background - Mairi, who is originally from Scotland and has learned Welsh, graduated from the University of Aberdeen with MA in French and Italian. After moving to Wales in 1982, she taught Modern Languages in a number of English and Welsh medium schools across South Wales. She has been working with Best of Wales since the summer of 2012. Mairi lives in Cardiff and enjoys good food and coffee, cooking, travelling, and hill walking.

Name - Elliw Alwen

Role - Customer Service Officer

Background - Originally from Llangernyw by Llanrwst, Elliw moved to Cardiff in 2012 after graduating from Trinity University College, Carmarthen in 2012 with a BA in Performing Arts. As well as acting, singing and dancing, she also enjoys keeping fit, socialising at various different events and is very fond of going on holidays and travelling. In 2015, Elliw became a member of the Gorsedd of the Bards in the Wales National Eisteddfod which was a great honour!


Name - Elena Pryce

Role - Customer Care and Quality Officer

Background - Elena joined the Best of Wales team in December 2014. A local girl from Aberangell she previously worked in Newtown, gaining experience in accounting. In her spare time she enjoys Car rallying.


Name - Meirion Wyn Jones

Role - Filming, editing and Customer Service Officer

Background - Meirion graduated from Bangor University with a BA in Media in 2014 and has worked with Best of Wales since then. Meirion is originally from Dinas Mawddy but now lives in Felinheli. His interests include motor racing and anything to do with adventure.

Name- Elen Jones

Role - Customer Service Officer

Background - Having raised four children, Elen worked for fifteen years in the educational sector, and joined the Best of Wales team in September 2015. She graduated from Trinity Saint David's University, Carmarthen in 2014 with a BA degree in Social Inclusion. Elen lives on a farm in Dinas Mawddwy and enjoys travelling, socialising and craft work.


Name- Glenda Davies

Role - Customer Service Officer

Background - Born in the Gwendraeth Valley, Glenda moved to the Dyfi Valley after graduating with a BA Hons degree in Geography from Aberystwyth University. Following a period of teaching, she worked in the education, environmental, voluntary and public sectors in various communication and customer care roles. Glenda also helps to run the family farm alongside her husband and three daughters. Her interests are cooking, travelling, socialising and craftwork.
