Description

With great views across the lake and mountains, this ground floor self catering apartment is the ideal peace to relax and unwind. The peaceful and tranquil surroundings are magical and the small complex includes a swimming pool, sauna, tennis courts, children's play park,  putting green and a games room.

The family run complex includes a number of cottages that share the facilities but this is a tranquil getaway and is not a busy or a noisy resort-type complex.  The spectacular natural landscape gives a feeling of space and natural beauty.

Sleeps 2 (plus an extra 2 on sofa bed if required)

Ground floor

Open plan lounge, kitchen and diner with table and chairs for 4.

Fully equipped kitchen with electric oven and hob, fridge, toaster, dishwasher, microwave, and kettle.

Lounge with great lake views, TV, chess and games table, comfy chairs, and a sofa bed to sleep an additional 2 guests if required.

Bedroom 1 - Master bedroom with double bed, vanity station and patio doors opening out to great lake views.

Ensite bathroom – Shower unit with basin and WC

Master Bathroom   - bath, shower over bath, wc and basin.

 

Outside

Picnic bench directly outside and acres of land to enjoy and explore.

Games room (shared) includes pool table, table tennis, games console, dvd's, books and a dart board.

Additional Information

  • Welcome pack on arrival includes tea, coffee, sugar, milk and biscuits.
  • Bed linen and towels provided.
  • Iron & ironing board available.
  • Electricity & heating included.
  • High chair and travel cot available, please request when booking. Please bring your own bed linen for the cot.
  • No wi-fi in cottage but WIFI is available in the shared games / reading area.
  • There is a reception on the complex that is open until 5pm daily.
  • Mobile phone signal is weak, and some networks have no signal at all. There is a landline on site in case of emergencies.
  • The following items are also provided at the cottage for your stay… Kitchen: salt and pepper, kitchen roll, washing up liquid/dishwasher tabs, new dishcloths and scourers, tin foil, and cling film. Bathroom: liquid hand soap and 2 toilet rolls per toilet. General cleaning products: bleach, shower cleaner, anti-bacterial spray etc.
  • Swimming pool is open between 9am and 7pm each day.
  • Asda delivers to the cottage and there are also plenty of local suppliers in the nearby town of Builth Wells
  • No smoking inside and no pets.

Local Area

Sgrech y Coed /Jay is a self-catering apartment set on a small complex of several apartments in a secluded valley surrounded by mountains, a fishing lake, pitch, and putting green and with a swimming pool, tennis court and a games room on site.  The Chwefri river runs through the valley and is a tributary of the Wye, a famous salmon river. The nearest country pub The Red Lion is 1.8 miles away and the Trout Inn in Beulah is also worth a visit.

Builth Wells, the home of the Royal Welsh Show and Winter Fair is 10 miles away, whilst the spa town of Llandrindod Wells is only 10 miles to the east. The A470 offers convenient access to Cardiff and the rest of South Wales, whilst the location is also easily accessible from Hereford, Worcester, and the Midlands.

There are many walks nearby to suit all levels, including many treks and trails in the Elan Valley. Bird watching is also very popular in the area with red kites overhead, and kingfishers, to be seen swooping across the lake. For families, in addition to the swimming pool, tennis court and other facilities onsite, there is the Quakers indoor play centre nearby in Newbridge on Wye.

Builth Wells Golf Club is a great course for all levels and is laid out in splendid surroundings. 10 miles. Llandrindod Wells Golf club is 5800 yards in length and a par 69 overlooking the town. 10 miles.

Bird Watching
Visit the Red Kite Feeding Centre in Rhayader and learn all about these magnificent birds and watch them swoop overhead. 12 miles.

Horse Riding
Trekking and rides available in via The Lion Royal Hotel , with many different routes in the Elan Valley and surrounding countryside. 12 miles

Walking
A wide variety of walks nearby and in the Elan Valley and Brecon Beacons. Chwefri Valley Walk passes yards away 0.01 miles
