Setting and scenery are beautiful. Cottage is warm, cosy and well equipped. Sarah and Craig are lovely. Nothing is too much trouble. Highly recommended if you want an idyllic retreat.Mrs Jane Presland - 20th February 2018
Perfect for a quiet get away. The location is beautiful and for those that like walking it could not be better. The owners daughter and son in law mainly looked after us and could not have been friendlier or more helpful even down to towing one of our parties cars when it became stuck on an icy road. I cannot recommend highly enough. Perfect. The best holiday cottage I have stayed in and definitely the nicest owners. Beautiful place and property with amazing service.Colin from Staffordshire - 3rd January 2018

Bwthyn y Biga is set on a 60 acre smallholding and wildlife haven, within its own valley in the Hafren Forest and the Cambrian Mountains. One of two large, semi-detached holiday cottages on site, next door to Cwmbach y Biga. The nearest towns are Llanidloes (9 miles) and Machynlleth (15 miles). Both market towns have all the necessary amenities, including a variety of independent shops and local produce markets.
Just a short walk up the valley, Wales and the UK’s longest river (the Severn) begins as well as the Wye (the fifth longest). The associated long distance footpaths, the Wye Valley Walk and the Severn Way also begin here, not to mention the national trail of Glyndwr's Way that passes half a mile from the cottage. For the cyclists out there you will be very pleased that the cottage is also on a national cycle path (Lôn Las Cymru - Sustrans Route 8) and close to the Hafren Forest Trail. For a cycling or walking holiday Wales is your oyster from this central countryside retreat.
Bwthyn y Biga enjoys a lovely setting within the Cambrian Mountains, very near to Pumlumon and surrounded by the famous Hafren Forest which covers about 40 square kilometres. The beautiful Clywedog Reservoir, renowned for its fishing and sailing, is only a mile away.

Or if you’re looking for shopping and culture, then the lovely coastal town of Aberystwyth is only 30 miles away with its famous Arts Centre. Though if you want to just play by the sea then the beautiful beaches of unspoilt Aberdyfi (25 miles) take some beating.
Other popular visitor attractions nearby include clay pigeon shooting in Trefeglwys, the Forest Experience Rally School, the Yamaha Offroad Experience, the Owain Glyndwr Centre, the Centre for Alternative Technology, and watching red kites being fed at Gigrin Farm.
