Large balcony to make the most of the views – the perfect place to enjoy the sun rise over breakfast and alfresco dining in the evenings. Accessed from sitting room on first floor.

Set in a wonderful location, the views are incredible. Excellent accommodation, with a wood burning stove, plenty of logs and immaculate kitchen and living areas. If you like walking, pick up the local Machynlleth and Dolgellau walking books which are excellent guides for getting to know the area. This self catering Machynlleth cottage is a tastefully converted barn, located on a 500 acres working hill farm. Positioned to make the most of the views, Y Daflod overlooks the hidden valley below, with the mountains of Snowdonia National Park adding to the enchanting scenes along the horizon. The mountain of Esgair Llyn nature reserve (made famous by the well-known welsh folk singer Dafydd Iwan) with its deep purple colours, also stands tall, nearby.
Y Daflod cottage is set in a truly tranquil, unique location with not even another farm in sight. The large balcony offers the perfect setting to enjoy the views as well as some stunning sun rises and sun sets. You can also enjoy the song of the birds and the gliding red kite hovering above.
This self catering Machynlleth cottage is just 6 miles from the town itself – a beautiful market town which is also the Ancient Capital of Wales. Machynlleth offers lovely little cafes, plenty of unique shops, two supermarkets and a number of good restaurants. Some of the recommended restaurants include Number 21 and Wynnstay in Machynlleth, Black Lion in Derwenlas (8 miles) and Glanyrafon in Pennal (10 miles). You will also find all the amenities you need in Machynlleth including banks, garages and a number of takeaways and pubs (including the Wynnstay and White Lion).
Some of the main attractions from this self catering Machynlleth cottage include the sandy beaches at Aberdyfi and Ynys Las (at opposite ends of the Dyfi estuary), Talyllyn Railway and the RSPB Reserve and Ospreys Project at Ynyshir. Sustrans Way – the Machynlleth to Caersws section can be joined on the Machynlleth - Llanidloes mountain road, less than 2 miles from the cottage.
