Reviews

The cottage was in a wonderful location with beaches, walks and countryside all nearby. It is generally well equipped and very comfortable. We would defiitely recommend it and return again ourselves.

Mrs V,

We really enjoyed our holiday we were 2 families with 2 big dogs and the cottage was very well equipped with everything we needed and was secure for our dogs. We had a fantastic stay, really enjoyed the hot tub and garden with a beautiful outlook. Can't wait to book again x

Mrs D,

Great location; walk to Whistling sands, short drive down to facilities in Aberdaron [and its beach too].

Dr E,

Perfect beautiful location and property. 100% would recommend

Mrs E,

Lovely location & cottage. We had a wonderful week. Could do with a few more glasses in the kitchen.

Mrs Laura R,

No barbecue as described, No trampoline as pictured. Small essentials would have given a more welcoming feel eg. Kitchen Roll, Hand Soap, Washing up liquid or dishwasher tabs, salt and pepper, considering the nearest shop was about five miles away.

Mr Steven B,

Map

Enjoys beach holidays in Wales at this tranquil setting on the beautiful Llyn Peninsula. Located on the opposite side of a country lane from the owners’ stock farm, this detached cottage is one of just two holiday lets on site. If you have an extended family the other cottage also sleeps 8 and both are within walking distance (¼ mile) of the National Trust beach at Porthoer (Whistling Sands). As the English version of its name suggests, the sand at this beautiful beach does actually whistle under your feet when the conditions are right.
The All Wales Coast Path can also be joined here and this walk is highly recommended with spectacular views of Ynys Enlli (Bardsey Island), along the Peninsula and towards Snowdonia. Ynys Enlli, a former site of religious pilgrimage is now a National Nature Reserve that can be visited by boat from Porth Meudwy, just 2 miles from your cottage.

The idyllic seaside village of Aberdaron is also within 2 miles – a definite must during your beach holidays in Wales. This is the most western village on the tip of the Llyn Peninsula where you will find a lovely sandy beach, cafes, two excellent pubs with restaurants, a village Bakery where you can get fresh bread every morning, Spar shop, newsagents and a Beach shop.

There are also a number of other amazing beaches for you to enjoy, incuding the coastal resort of Abersoch and Pwllheli, the ‘capital’ of the Llyn Peninsula. The Llyn Peninsula is a designated area of outstanding natural beauty where the Welsh language and way of life still flourish. It is also renowned for its water sport and delightful coastal villages. With 84 miles of stunning coastline, an array of hills of varying height inland plus the majestic mountains of Snowdonia on your doorstep, it’s also a great place for a walking holiday.

Other recommended days out include a visits to the historical Plas yn Rhiw manor house (6 miles), Felin Uchaf Educational Centre (5 miles) and the numerous castles, including Cricieth (26 miles) and Caernarfon (35 miles). For family days out, Glasfryn Parc is a must with its go-karting, ten-pin bowling, archery etc, along with the Ffestiniog Railway, the Italian village of Portmeirion, Greenwood Forest Park and the National Slate Museum at Llanberis.
