Description

Situated on the eastern edge of the glorious Snowdonia Mountain range, down a stunning private leafy lane with a beautiful iron bridge over the Elwy river is where you'll find Cartrefle. This thoughtfully decorated 4-bedroom property with private hot tub overlooks the Elwy river and the owners fields where you can see the dairy cows grazing or watch them walk down to the parlour for miking.

The secluded spot is filled with the tranquil sound of the river and birdsong and if you're lucky you may spot some of the local wildlife; from wild deer and foxes to buzzards and kites. The lodge was built after World War I by Walter Aubrey Thomas - the same architect who designed the famous Royal Liver Building in Liverpool, a world-renowned landmark. Thomas designed and built Cartrefle as a rural retreat.

There are a number of nearby local activities to experience during your stay; from on-site river fishing (rod licence required) and teeing off at Silver Birch Gold Club (4 miles) to exploring the beautiful shingle beach of Pensarn - 2019 Seaside Award winner and scenic coastal paths. Snowdonia National Park is also a 35-minute drive from the property.

Past Customer,

The house is beautiful its so nice and peaceful - we liked everything about being here. Watching the cows go up the hill each day was lovely. Being disabled I found it so easy to navigate , it is so spacious and accessibility friendly. We would thoroughly recommend a meal at the black lion. The beds were super comfy, the hot tub was wonderful and our welcome with the scones was a nice touch. Watching the wildlife was amazing. We will definitely be back.
