Bwlchgwyn Farm Pony Trekking Centre, Tywyn
Bwlchgwyn Farm Pony Trekking Centre near Tywyn, on the North Wales coast has a good selection of horses and ponies suitable for all ages and abilities. Non riders as well as experienced riders are very welcome as no previous experience is necessary.
Estuary Trek - £20 per horse.
Suitable for the complete beginner/novice (including families with young children from 4yrs up). Trek along Bwlchgwyn’s farm land in amongst the resident sheep and wildlife, with magnificent views of the Mawddach Estuary and Cader Idris mountain range in the distance.
Beach Trek (Novice) - £30 per horse.
Suitable for complete beginners/novices (from 8yrs up if accompanied). Trek down through the farm land to Fairbourne beach. This is just at a walking/trekking pace. The Centre does not mix abilities unless a more experienced person wishes to stay with their less experienced friend.
Beach Trek (Experienced riders only) - £40 per horse.
This Ride is the same as above but when you get to the beach your guide will take you in an opposite direction to the novices and you can have a steady canter/gallop along the golden sand and along the waters edge. This ride is for the very experienced regular rider who is experienced in riding out in open space.
Safety hats are provided free of charge and are up to date with the British and European standards.
From Dolgellau by pass (A470) take the A493 coast road towards Tywyn and Fairbourne. Drive through the village of Arthog. Bwlchgwyn Farm is located on the left just before reaching Fairbourne.
