Ynys Enlli / Bardsey Island

Take a boat trip to the legendary "Island of 20,000 saints", 1.9 miles off the Llŷn Peninsula. The island has been an important religious site since Saint Cadfan built a monastery in 516 and in medieval times three pilgrimages to Bardsey Island were considered to be of equivalent benefit to the soul as one to Rome. Declared a National Nature Reserve since 1986, it offers a fabulous diversity of birds and is one of the best places in Gwynedd to see grey seals.
