Panorama Walk, Barmouth
The Panorama Walk is Barmouth's most famous walk and the view from the summit is one of the most spectacular in Wales. The route is signposted and the viewpoint is only about a mile and a half from the town.
From here, given a clear day you can look down at the Mawddach river winding to the sea, through Barmouth bridge and on to the quay. Up river is Penmaenpool Toll bridge with the mountain of Diffwys to the north, and the Aran mountais in the distance. The outline of the ‘Giant’s’ Head can also be seen below the mountain of Cadair Idris.
Panorama Walk is approached up a steep road off the Barmouth to Dolgellau road, just beyond Porkington Terrace. Whilst the viewpoint is accessible to people of all ages, there are a couple of longer alternative routes available for the more energetic walker.
