Description

The wonderful forested mountains of south Snowdonia surround this deceptively spacious end-terraced cottage in the village of Dinas Mawddwy. With local facilities including two hotel bars, pub and woollen mill shop with café all within walking distance, and just a short drive to a petrol station, convenience store and the historic Brigands’ Inn, this is an excellent base for walking, fishing, mountain biking and touring the attractions and spectacular scenery of this popular location.

Oswalds Cottage has some lovely original features, including both an open fire and a wood burning stove, complemented by quality modern conveniences and facilities. There is central heating and WiFi throughout, and your dog is welcome, too.

Ground Floor

A cosy sitting room with open fire, rug over polished floorboards, sofa, armchair, tub chair, Freesat TV, DVD player, WiFi, Wii with selection of games, books etc.

Separate, formal dining room with slate flooring, wood burning stove, tub chair, oak dining table and six chairs.

Very well equipped fitted kitchen, also with slate flooring, with electric oven and hob, microwave, washing machine, integrated dishwasher and integrated tall fridge with large 3* freezer compartment. Breakfast table and four chairs.

First Floor

Please note that the staircase is quite narrow, with a couple of half-steps at the top, turning right into one bedroom and left to the other part of the house.

Bedroom 1 with double bed and full range of pine bedroom furniture. (There is also a single trundle bed which can be pulled out to accommodate a small child, if required, but this limits space within the room; guests to bring own bedding and linen if this additional bed is to be used.)

Spacious family bathroom with dual function shower in large cubicle, bath with hand-shower attachment, WC, basin, large chest of drawers.

Bedroom 2 with Victorian style double bed, built-in wardrobe and original, non-functional cast iron fireplace.

Garden

There is a steeply sloping natural garden to the side of the property. Young children should be supervised at all times as the garden is not enclosed and has steep drops and access to the roofline of the sheds at the rear of the property.

Secure bike storage is available and there is a log store to the rear; logs are provided.
