Bwthyn Trefdraeth holiday cottage – Newport, Pembrokeshire offers a stunning, uninterrupted view of Newport Bay. Its ideal location makes it a perfect base for walking the nearby coastal path or exploring Pembrokeshire Coast National Park. Within easy walking distance of Newport beach, further coves/beaches and an assortment of restaurants, galleries and friendly pubs. Newport Golf Links Course, boat club, pony trekking centres, local crafts workshops and sports centres are all within reach.
The Welsh name for Newport is Trefdraeth and can be translated as 'town by the beach'. This says it all, as this holiday cottage offers an ideal location for swimming, windsurfing, sailing and canoeing. Other activities to be enjoyed here are tennis, cycling, fishing and bird-watching.

Bwthyn Trefdraeth holiday cottage, Newport Pembrokeshire is set in its own spacious grounds adjacent to the owners' dwelling, just 1 mile from the centre of the town. To the south, Fishguard is 7 miles away while Cardigan is 12 miles to the north.
Within walking distance of your holiday cottage, Newport Pembrokeshire's delightful coastal town has a truly local feel about it. It is one of the most beautiful places to holiday in Wales and many holidaymakers return year after year. The town has a variety of shops, numerous art galleries, craft, antique, books and coffee shops. Local pubs and restaurants provide extensive menus, many with fresh produce including locally caught shellfish, seafood and sewin from the River Nevern. Located on the coast and within Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, the only coastal National Park in UK, the 3 larger towns of Fishguard, Cardigan and Haverfordwest are all within a 30 minute drive.
Inland from Bwthyn Trefdraeth holiday cottage lies the rugged Preseli Mountains. There are many tales and myths around these magical mountains. The world famous Bluestones of Stonehenge originated in these hills. Carningli Mountain lies just above the town and although only 400 meters in height the coastal location makes it a unique spot with spectacular views. Within reach is Castell Henllys Iron Age village
For walkers the ‘Poppit Rocket’ shuttle bus runs along the coast from Newport towards Cardigan and with many stops along the way it is an ideal link to walking sections of the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path.
Famous for its many dolphins, seals and porpoises the headlands along this section of the Pembrokeshire coast provide excellent opportunities to marvel at these fantastic mammals. A popular destination for bird watchers, the Nevern Estuary is teeming with ducks, swans, gulls, egrets and more. There are many walks around Newport that take in great views of the estuary and its flora and fauna
Beaches
Traeth Mawr is the largest of the beaches with almost a mile of flat golden sand. During the summer there is a safe swimming zone manned by lifeguards. 1 mile.
Walking
Both sea and mountain are withing reach. Standing stones, ancient forts and hut circles can be found whilst wandering around the moors and craggy out crops, Pentre Ifan Burial Chamber is well worth a visit. Some of the best stretches of the North Pembrokeshire Coastal Path can be enjoyed easily and without too much effort. 0.5 miles
Fishing
There is superb fishing all around the Newport area.
Sea Fishing – Where the river Nevern meets the sea is a popular bass and flat fish mark. 0.5 mile.
Coarse fishing -Many lakes including Yet-y-Gors Coarse Fishery. 7 miles
Game fishing – River Nevern holds wild brown trout and runs of salmon and sea trout. 0.5 miles.

Golf
Newport Sands is the best links courses in the UK and located along the Coastal Path. 2 miles
Cycling
Many trails and quiet local roads in the area making superb cycling. You can cycle right onto Newport sands. 1 mile
