Thank you for another comfortable stay in your lovely house. You think of everything to make a stay enjoyable. We have had wonderful weather and have made the best of every day enjoying the beautiful beaches and other locations. The Stone Age Fort is well worth a visit. We had a very good meal at the Castle in Newport. Thank you for all the ‘goodies’ you left for us. Ian and Molly Glendenning and Geoffrey – Cheltenham, Gloucester. - 25th May 2018
A great week in a really comfortable house, everything covered. Lots of walks round the coast locally and further afield. The dogs are exhausted! Great local pub – The Freemasons Arms – managed a visit every day; good beer and food. Thank you once again for an enjoyable stayDave + Sharon, Mark + Jackie, Alfie + Merlin (the dogs) – Cornwall, Kent - 19th May 2018
Another fabulous week at Deudraeth, the house as comfortable and cosy as ever! Really enjoyed the little treats you left for us, particularly the Welsh cakes. Had a lovely week finding secluded beaches off the Pembrokeshire costal path. Thoroughly enjoyed the walk from Porthclais to Porthlistky beach, a must. Definitely be back again, fantastic host & house, thank youVanessa, Dean & Maisie Moo, Martin – West Bromwich, West Midlands - 30th April 2018
The pre visit emails were excellent and Gillian made every effort to provide us with information about the area and even booked a table at a local recommended pub for us on Boxing day. These little touches were marvellous and make us want to use your service again.Nigel from UK - 3rd January 2018
We’ve thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this wonderful cottage. The cava and welsh cakes provided on arrival was a lovely touch, and our golden retriever Finlay loved the dog treats too! The location is beautiful and we’ve been some fantastic walks nearby; Pwllgwaelod Beach round one corner was a lovely (albeit very windy) walk, as was Newport Sands and Poppit Sands – Finlay had an amazing time running through the sand dunes! Our boxing Day meal, kindly booked by Gill, was delicious; the Golden Lion is a truly lovely pub, with great food, lovely staff and a welcoming atmosphere – we went back several times! Would definitely recommend it. Overall, thank you very much for providing us with such a comfortable stay over Christmas! The Stevens Family – Reading, Berkshire - 31st December 2017
Lovely house, spotlessly clean, in a fabulous location.
The coastal walk around Dinas Head was outstanding.Family Holiday - 2nd September 2017
We have had a wonderful week. Fantastic house and fantastic location. We went kayaking in Fishguard with a company called Kayak King, highly recommend them. They made the trip fun and safe, we even saw an Atlantic seal. We saw Dolphins in the bay to left of the house,
we walked up the path from the road. There are fantastic views of both beaches from the path, amazing sunsets. Newport beach is also worth visiting.Molsey Family from Surbiton, Surrey. - 19th August 2017
This house has provided us with a perfect ‘home away from home’. The location absolutely spot on for all the reasons of beautiful Pembrokeshire AND for being only one minute’s walk from Granny Rosemary!! The décor, practical provision and attention to detail make this a very welcoming place to be. We have had a wonderful week! We WILL be back! Thank you.Richard and Jo Harrison from Felixstowe / Tess, Mark, Megan and Alice Neathway from Bristol - 12th August 2017
What a wonderful house! And what a super location! We enjoyed the nearby beaches and the peninsula Dinas Head. Kiel’s shop (Mace) has everything you need and Newport has even more. We enjoyed the surrounding – made a wonderful walk from Mynydd Melyn to Mynydd Carningli and the overwhelming panorama. In Newport we can really recommend the Canteen – we couldn’t believe the excellent reviews but it is all time! The young staff even learned us the basic Welsh!
In New Quay we saw quite some dolphins. The heavy sea state was not pleasant for all of us, though. But dolphins – big smile…a hidden jem is the Cwm Gwaun (afon Gwaun) valley – what a surprise! Also interesting to visit is the church at Nevern (wonderful), don’t forget to look at the gardens of the neighbours … the children of course loved the sea & beach and Wi-Fi. Rating: 5/5!Mac Gillavry Family from Nootdorp, The Netherlands - 5th August 2017
Location is super. Just a short walk to the two beaches. Great garden, there is always somewhere where you can sit in the sun out of the wind. Property is well equipped end clean. Quiet and pleasant neighborhood.
Tips: Walk coastal path towards Fishguard and take the bus back or take the bus to Newport and walk the coastal path back to the property... beautiful walks and the bus stop is close by (Kiel House). The walk between the two beaches is lovely as well. Dinas Cross has a convient store with a wide range of products, Mace, Kiel House. Cafe on the Quay in Lower Fishguard - good food, good atmosphereCarolien from Dordrecht, the Netherlands - 29th July 2017

This detached Holiday Cottage is among a small group of houses within walking distance of 2 beaches, pubs, a great fish and chip shop and general stores in Dinas Cross near Newport, Pembrokeshire. Dinas Head is a prominent headland that juts out into Cardigan Bay. Each side of the headland is a beach, Cwm yr Eglwys and Pwllgwaelod and the great thing with both of these is that they face the opposite direction, so one of the two is always sheltered, making it perfect for families. They are both great for canoeing and equippment can be hired locally as well as tuition, if required.
Only 3 miles away is Newport, with a variety of small shops, craft shops, antique shops, books shops and several pubs and restaurants. The coastline is well know for its dolphins, and boat trips can be booked from Cardigan. There are some great attractions in the area, including Cardigan Island Coastal Farm Park, Dyfed Shire Horse Farm, Folly Farm and Oakwood Theme Park. Within a 30 minute drive are the 3 larger towns of Cardigan, Fishguard and Haverfordwest. All three have great local shops and markets, and also larger supermarkets. Fishguard lies 3.9 miles to the south. It has a fascinating history and you can also catch the ferry to Ireland from here.
The Preseli Mountains are inland from Newport and there are many tales and myths around these magical mountains. The world famous Bluestones of Stonehenge originated in these hills. On a clear day, from above the village you can see Snowdon and North Wales, and on rare occasions it is possible to see over to Ireland and the Wicklow Mountains. For walkers, the ‘Poppit Rocket’ shuttle bus runs along the coast from Newport towards Cardigan - with many stops along the way, it is an ideal aid to walking sections of the All Wales Coastal Path.
