It was lovely, very comfortable, well equipped. Great welcome pack. Pembroke Castle was a great day out. A boat trip from Tenby Harbour was also a holiday highlight.Karen from Watford - 4th June 2017

Recommends: Local potteries and galleries, a visit to the woolen mill and visit some of the surrounding beaches.Angie & Russell from Sandwell - 5th February 2017
Tips: Don't rely on taxis to take you out. They're friendly and helpful but expensive because of the distances. Take turns being "Des" you'll have more fun and save money too.
Farmers' Arms in Mathryn well worth a visit, may not look much but the food is amazing and the bar is so well stocked I could have stayed for a month and not had the same drink twice (if you like shorts that is :-D )Joanne from Sheffield, South Yourkshire - 10th September 2016
Quaint cottage, beautifully modernised in very central area of the Snowdonia National Park, for which we were visiting. The local ladies in corner shop were very friendly and helpful. Make sure you bring plenty of coins for car parks, very scant mobile service.Megan from Berkshire - 4th June 2016
Wonderful welcome throughout our stay. Enjoy local beaches and walks. Eating out at the pub in Mathry was welcoming and food excellent. Also restaurant at Porthgain, The Shed excellent.Family from Birmingham - 4th June 2016

This North Pembrokeshire holiday cottage is detached and set on a smallholding just outside Mathry, 6 miles from Fishguard and 10 miles from St Davids. The owners of the cottage live in the nearby farmhouse. Mathry is a lovely little village and was the birthplace of Jemima Fawr, a Welsh heroine who led the women of Pembrokeshire into battle in what is known as the last invasion of Britain in 1797. The Farmers Arms in Mathry is a great traditional pub with great food and a wide selection of ales.
St Davids is Britain's smallest city and is surrounded by some of the finest coastline in Europe. Well worth a visit during your stay at this luxury Pembrokeshire holiday cottage, the city of St Davids lies on the River Alun and is located on the St David's Peninsula. Granted city status by Queen Elizabeth II because of the presence of the cathedral, St Davids is in reality a small beautiful village. Many people have fallen to the charm of St Davids including current New Zealand rugby Coach Graham Henry who lists St Davids as his favourite place in the World.
Fishguard, Goodwick and Lower Town form a close and friendly community in North Pembrokeshire. The area is famous as the location of 'The Last Invasion of Britain' when in 1797 French troops landed nearby. The invasion is commemorated by an imposing and internationally famous tapestry which is on display at the Last Invasion Gallery in the Town Hall. Fishguard stands on an imposing headland commanding superb views of the bay. It is the main shopping centre of North Pembrokeshire with two small supermarkets and many family-run shops and businesses. There is a good choice of pubs, restaurants and cafes, with several pubs providing entertainment at weekends. The town provides many superb walks including the Marine Walk which has outstanding coastal views.
In the area there are several fascinating villages that are certainly worth a visit. One of which is the beautiful fishing village of Porthgain, now home to the Shed bistro and the Sloop Inn where musician Cerys Matthews can sometimes be found playing the piano and singing in her favourite pub!. Solva is known as the jewel of the Pembrokeshire Coast and is an ideal location for walking, sailing, fishing or simply relaxing amongst the shops, galleries and restaurants set in the beautiful scenery.
Travelling north, just 5 miles from your Pembrokeshire holiday cottage, is the ferry boat over to Southern Ireland. Speed across on the Stenna Express in just 90 minutes or take a more leisurely 3 ½ hour journey by super ferry and enjoy time in the bars, restaurants, and shops.
