Map

Ty'r Castell coastal cottage, Pembrokeshire, is located in Abercastle just a short drive away from Britain’s smallest city, St Davids. The location is equidistant between St David’s and Fishguard and just two miles from the A487 trunk road and the village of Mathry. The Strumble Shuttle bus also passes us. Lying within the Pembrokeshire National Park, the holiday cottage is surrounded by stunning scenery and a plethora of wildlife habitats. The cottage is also in sight of ‘Carreg Sampson’, a Neolithic burial chamber, so called because legend has it that St. Sampson placed the headstone using just two fingers.

St Davids is a beautiful and unique city surrounded by spectacular coastal scenery renowned for its beauty and abundance of wildlife. St Davids Cathedral has been the dominant presence since the 12th century and was a popular pilgrimage destination throughout the Middle Ages and indeed remains so to this day attracting thousands of visitors every year. Adjacent to the cathedral stand the magnificent ruins of the medieval Bishops Palace. The city of St Davids has a great deal to offer every visitor.

The owner can also organise walking holidays on the Pembrokeshire Coast Path with walking guides or unsupported. Groups are offered a pick up and drop off service, there is no need to pack your bags every morning, just bring your boots, coat, day sack and a smile!

For the more active and adventurous the owner can (in conjunction with another company) organise the following on your behalf :- Sea Cliff Climbing, Sea Kayaking, Power Boating Instruction, Sailing holidays, Sailing Instruction (offshore), Land & Sea Navigation Courses, Diving Courses, Corporate Team Building Exercises, First Aid Courses, Orienteering, Sea Cliff traversing, Surfing & Boogie Boarding.

Ramsey Island is also well worth a visit during your stay. It is a dramatic off-shore island, a mile off Pembrokeshire’s coast. The island covers approx 600 acres and features 400ft high cliffs, which teem with breeding seabirds and is now owned by the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds. Ramsey Island is accessible by a regular boat service from St Justinian’s, which crosses the spectacular Ramsey Sound, with its infamous and treacherous reef, known as the Bitches.
