Description

Panoramic views over the Dyfi Valley towards the Snowdonia mountains, that can be enjoyed from the comfort of your bed, window seat or the elevated patio in front of a fire pit. Slate Cabin is one of eight award winning cabins which were the focus of the Channel 4 / Netflix documentary 'Cabins in the Wild'.

The perfect retreat to experience the silence and solitude of the Welsh landscape, Slate Cabin is designed to reinvigorate those who stay there. Inspired by the Welsh slate industry, the cabin fits effortlessly into its surroundings and embodies simplicity and style. Clever and compact design, with a pull-up table that’s perfect for two and a sumptuous king bed for rest and relaxation that elevates at the touch of a button.

Natural light bathes the space, and a pot-bellied, woodburning stove brings warmth and cosiness. At one end of the cabin, a long window in front of a seat and desk frames a panoramic view of the Welsh landscape. It’s the perfect spot to sit with a cup of tea and a book.

With Glyndwr's Way (one of only 3 National Trails in Wales) on your doorstep, it's also worth exploring your beautiful surroundings. The river Dyfi begins its journey on Aran Fawddwy (9 miles north), the highest peak in Wales and the British Isles south of Snowdon, flows through UNESCO Dyfi Biosphere, past Machynlleth (7 miles), the Ancient Capital of Wales and enters the sea at Aberdyfi (18 miles south-west). From mountain to coast, Slate Cabin offers plenty of variety and attractions. It is also within 1 mile of a village pub, shop and cafe in Cemaes.

Reviews

Arrived to a beautiful cosy cabin with everything we could want or need, and a lovely welcome hamper. We took a walk into the local village and had a delicious breakfast at the café. The views from the cabin are stunning, especially when we had snow. Llion and Manon were wonderful hosts and were very attentive during our stay. We cant wait to come back!!

Mr Dwain W,

The hosts have been truthfully amazing and the breath-taking view is a nice change of pace from the typical city life. The snacks provided, especially the toffee waffles, tasted amazing and being fortunate enough to keep for myself, I was lucky enough to enjoy both packets. unfortunately, I had to cut the stay short, but none the less, I still enjoyed it and hope to return soon.

Mr Bilal H,

What a beautiful surprise to walk into, our first view of a place so beautifully lit in the middle of amazing countryside. As it was quite dark when we arrived the views upon walking up were just spectacular. Llion was so helpful during our stay and Manon, "thank you" for the surprise with the delicious cake. Thank you, we had an excellent stay

Mr Ramon L,

Beautiful views, such an amazing and cosy cabin. Came for a romantic break for our second wedding anniversary. Welcome box is a sweet added extra.

Mr Jonny H,

We have had an amazing break! It has been exactly what we needed to relax and unwind. It's been amazing to see the farmers ar work as well as watching the lambs being born and sheep watching. Despite being quite unlucky with the weather, we have visited quite a few places - Barmouth, Borth, Aberystwyth and Machynlleth - all amazing places. Food recommendations; -The Mermaid Chip Shop in Barmouth -Town Kebab House in Machynlleth -China Garden in Machynlleth Owners were very reassuring when a storm hit and made us feel extremely welcome. Can't wait to come back xx

Past Customer,

We had a wonderful little break, much needed. Great accommodation with fantastic views. Our highlight was watching the sheepdogs at work. Thank you very much.

Wonderful Place! Thank you

Past Customer,

Our stay here has been the best way to celebrate 20 years of marriage. Absolutely idyllic! Thank you for providing everything we've needed. The cabin is wonderful and the location is stunning. We love the local shop/cafe, great breakfast and Ploughman's. Aberdyfi is a lovely place to visit. We recommend lunch at 'Coast' there. Loved watching the lambs play, the red kites soar and the bunnies road running. Loved it all. Thanks!

Past Customer,

Thank you for a wonderful stay in the beautiful cosy cabin! The owner met us on our first day at the cabin, gave us some local knowledge and places to visit. The cabin is well located for visiting the local town and villages, including Barmouth, Machynlleth, Porthmadog, Corris and Tywyn. Highly recommend visiting the Centre of alternative Technology, Corris steam Railway and Portmeirion.

Past Customer,

Happy May Day! thank you for a lovely stay. Cosy cabin, perfect for our needs. Easy to get to. Great pub dinners in Cemaes and the Wildfowler near Ynyslas Beach is a great recommendation. We liked the sheep neighbours.

Past Customer,

Amazing views, loved the sheeps! Really cosy inside and had everything you needed. Highly recommend Hennighan's Fish shop in Machynlleth.

Past Customer,

We are so happy to be back! This is our third visit to Caban Llechi and I think we love it more every time. We could stare at the beautiful view for hours and we've loved watching the new arrivals skipping around the field. We have been incredibly lucky with the weather - the spring sunshine has been beautiful and we've certainly made the most of it walking in the mountains. Cadair Idris is an absolute favourite - we walked up the Minffordd path to the summit before heading down towards Pen y Bwlch Coch, which was a lovely, quiet walk, we even caught an air show through the narrow mountains. We also went on one of our favourite walks to date, we parked at Bryn Hafod and walked up to Aran Faddwy - the views were breathtaking! We walked along the ridge to Aran Benllyn - thank you for the recommendation. We wondered to the Mawddach Pizza near Dolgellau which we would highly recommend - possibly the best pizza we've ever had. We've also loved grabbing a morning coffee and breakfast from Ty Cemaes. Thank you so much again for the most wonderful and relaxing stay.

Past Customer,

wow! What an incredible find, gorgeous views and so tranquil. Just a few days away but that is all we needed to feel so at peace and definitely feel relaxed from this holiday. We really enjoyed eating out breakfast with the stunning views and watching the sheep! Thank you! x

Past Customer,

This is a perfect place for glamping right in the middle of a working farms field with stunning views over the valley. Watching sheep graze and lambs being born. This is an amazing location if you want to be away from the city life and unwind. The farmers are very friendly and helpful with anything you need and as is the owner who messaged to check we were OK and reassure us during a heavy storm with strong winds. We loved this place and will definitely be booking again in the future.

Mr Adam H,

The place was lovely and very cosy and an exceptional location. We had a great time!

Mrs Susanna P,

It was the perfect choice of short break that me and my wife needed. Peaceful, perfect location and wonderful views of the countryside.

Mr George H,

The cabin was amazing! The location was outstanding and the owner was so lovely. Such a relaxing short break, breathtaking views! Would highly recommend if you want to switch off from the world for a few days

Miss Rachael B,

Lovely cabin, owners very friendly & welcoming. The views are amazing! The cabin very cosy with everything you need.

Miss Lisa R,

Found the property to be exactly as advertised. The host are lovely and provide exceptional care and attentiveness. Really enjoyed the cosy cabin! Breathtaking views and plenty to see and do.

Mr Dave K,

It was a lovely stay! Just what we needed before Christmas. It was quiet and in the middle of nowhere.. gorgeous views! Xx

Miss Mia S,

A beautifully sited cabin, with stupendous views. The cabin is small so comfort is limited to a degree but it has all the basics, a toilet, a hot shower, effective heating, basic cooking and a great bed. And lots of little extras - books and games, a welcome pack, milk in fridge. A great choice for a complete get away.

Ms Lesley A,
