Nestled against the slopes of the famous Sugar Loaf mountain this 5 star holiday cottage in Crickhowell, near Abergavenny, is perfect for a couple, a family or a group of friends. Located within the Brecon Beacons National Park, you have all the activities, attractions and natural beauty of the park to enjoy, in addition to the pleasant market town of Abergavenny.

Local Area

5 star mountain side holiday cottage is on the slopes of the Sugar Loaf mountain in the Brecon Beacons National Park. This is a detached cottage on a remote farm track. There is one other small cottage that is across the courtyard but both have their own private area.  These cottages are on a working farm.

The market town of Crickhowell is 2 miles away. Located on the banks of the river Usk, it is a pretty town with several small shops and a few places to eat and drink. Abergavenny is 4 miles away and is a larger market town with great local suppliers and also a supermarket.

Within the Brecon Beacons National Park, the whole area is full of opportunities for great walks, fishing, cycling and many more outdoor activities. The Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal runs nearby and is considered by many to be Britain's most picturesque canal. Llangorse Lake is the largest natural lake in South Wales and is renowned for its pike fishing, and is home to the biggest pike ever caught in Wales. There are numerous fishing opportunities in the area: the Usk is one of the best salmon rivers in the UK.

 

Water sports

Llangorse Lake offer a wide range of water sports including canoeing, sailing dinghies, rowing boats, pedaloes and water- skiing. Hired from the lakeside, 12 miles.


Walks

Walk up the Sugar Loaf from the doorstep. But there are also many others trails and walks around. 0.1 miles.

Fishing

Permits and day tickets are available for the superb wild brown trout, salmon and sea trout (sewin) fishing on the river Usk. 0.2 miles

Golf

Monmouthshire Golf Club, a great course in gorgeous surroundings.  5 miles

Cycling

NCN Route 42 runs nearby but there are many quiet country roads perfect for cycling. 0.5 miles.

Pony Trekking

Grange Pony trekking Centre offer riding in the Brecon Beacons. 17 miles.
