Roman Legion fortress At Caerleon
In AD 75 the Romans built the fortress at Caerleon, known as Isca. It was one of the three major forts in the UK and for 200 years a key part of the Roman empire. Today you can visit the Museum and see the Roman Baths, the interactive displays and exhibitions to get a feel of life in Roman times. You will see the influence the Romans still have on us today, not least the transport system. The amphitheatre and barracks are among the most complete anywhere in Europe.
