Llofft y Fro is a self catering Vale of Glamorgan cottage, set within the grounds of another 17th century thatched cottage in a tiny and peaceful little hamlet, only a stone’s throw from the stunning beaches and coastline of the Glamorgan Heritage Coast. It has been described as having the design of a boutique hotel but with the freedom and space that a hotel cannot provide.
Stylishly decorated throughout and with underfloor heating, the cottage makes an ideal romantic retreat or accommodation for Cardiff Airport (only 3 miles away) and is 25 minutes from the centre of Cardiff.

This property has a £150 good housekeeping refundable bond, which is payable to Best of Wales along with the balance of your holiday. Alternatively, you can waiver this bond by paying a non-refundable fee of £5 per person instead.

Ideal retreat for two people looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of your working week. Very quiet and a great base for days out.

Llofft y Fro offers the perfect rural retreat whilst also being close to the hustle and bustle of Cardiff City Centre. Set within the grounds of a 17th century thatched cottage in the peaceful little hamlet of Gileston in the Vale of Glamorgan. The village of St Athan is only 0.5 miles away and includes a local shop and pub. Aberthaw Power station is nearby and part of it can be seen from the garden. The county market towns of Llantwit Major and Cowbridge are only 4 and 5 miles away and Rhoose with its railway station offers a direct link into the centre of Cardiff (only 3 miles away).
Nominated as one of the best places to live in the UK, Llantwit Major is a lovely county town with numerous pubs and shops. Located on the coast with a good surf beach it also has a railway station with a direct link into the centre of Cardiff. The historic town of Cowbridge has many fine boutiques, restaurants, cafes and pubs. The All Wales coastal path can be joined following only a short walk from the cottage and there are many other walks and trails throughout the area.
Cardiff is a city of attractions, sport, culture and entertainment. Its attractions include The Millennium Stadium, Cardiff Castle, St. David’s Hall, New Theatre and St. David’s 2 shopping centre. Cardiff has notched up a fine reputation as a sporting capital thanks to the quality of the events and facilities. Cardiff International Airport is less than 10 minutes away, as are many beaches along the Glamorgan Heritage Coast, Fonmon Castle, and the world famous Atlantic College.

One of the closest courses is Cottrell Park, an idyllic venue set in the heart of 400 acres of beautiful Parkland (1.5 miles).

The quiet country lanes found in the Vale are ideal for cycling (0.5 miles) Pony trekking Liege Manor Equestrian Centre is Wales' premier equestrian centre and home to over 70 horses and ponies. The Centre specialises in tuition for all ages and abilities (5 miles)
Along the Glamorgan Heritage Coast there are numerous beaches, from Llantwit Major beach (3 miles), to the more peaceful and stunning beach at Southerndown (11 miles).
