This 2-bedroom holiday cottage near Pontypridd is the ideal base for your stay in South Wales. It is located on a farm with many acres of woodland and countryside to be enjoyed and only a short drive to the magnificent Brecon Beacons to the north or Cardiff and the stunning scenery of the Glamorgan Heritage Coast to the south.  Local attractions include Bike Park Wales, Rhondda Heritage Park, The Old Bridge Pontypridd, Caerphilly Castle and Cardiff with its major sporting and music events, shopping centres, castle and many other attractions and activities. 

This property can also offer stabling for several horses including large private pastures.

Open plan lounge and dining area. Sofas for 4, smart TV, dining table and chairs for 4.

Fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher, fridge, separate freezer, microwave, electric oven and gas hob.

 

1st Floor

Bedroom 1  - Double bedroom with walk-in wardrobe and vanity area.

Many acres of countryside and woodland walks to be enjoyed. Bridleways pass near the property.

Local Area

This is a semi-detached property that adjoins the owners' property. It is a modern property and one of 4 large modern houses built on this farmland near Pontypridd. The houses are set back and this is a very quiet hamlet.  The nearest pub and shop are in Ynysybwl, 1.5 miles away and the village includes several pubs, convenience shops and takeaways.

Pontypridd is 3 miles away. The famous old bridge was built in 1756 and at the time was the longest single span bridge in the world. It was the 3rd attempt by William Edwards after the first 2 were washed away during floods.  The town has a newly modernised Lido in the wonderful Ynys Angharad park. Tom Jones is from the town and it is also famous for its rugby team and has produced many British Lions greats, including Tommy David, Neil Jenkins and Gethin Jenkins to name but a few.  There is a direct train link to Cardiff with up to 4 trains per hour running to the capital city. The Welsh national anthem was written and composed in Pontypridd by Evan James and James James.

Cardiff is 15 miles away and is a great city to visit with all its major events, attractions and of course its shopping.   Its attractions include the International White Water Centre,  International Swimming Pool, Cardiff Castle, Cardiff City Stadium and Sophia Gardens. 

Bike Park Wales is an extremely popular attraction and is only 13 miles away. Other attractions to visit include Caerphilly Castle, Castell Coch, Rhondda Heritage Centre and the Royal Mint Experience.

Several walks from the cottage including mountain and river walks. 0.1 miles.

Beaches

The Glamorgan Heritage coast is a short drive away. Several beaches are within driving distance including Llantwit Major, Ogmore and Southerndown.  28 miles.

Great local fishing on the Taff with day permits available. 0.2 miles. 

Cycling 

Excellent road cycling nearby including several popular climbs. For mountain biking the amazing Bike Park Wales is only a short drive away. 13 miles.

Pontypridd Golf Club is a hillside course with great views across the Valley. 3 miles.

Cardiff International White Water Centre in Cardiff Bay offers open water swimming, kayaking, canoeing, rafting and much more.  22 miles.
