Reviews

Amazing location and fantastic house with stunning views. It's well equipped, spacious and comfortable. The owners were really helpful with any queries we had and provided useful information of the local area. We will definitely be staying here again!

Mrs S,

Lovely property in a perfect location, large windows with river, sea and countryside views. Loved watching the river change depending on the tide. Accommodation made the holiday. Nice outside space over different levels. Short walk to Aberystwyth town centre and seafront. Relaxing break.

Mrs W,

Wonderful location, perfect for exploring the area - whether walking or by car. The accommodation is very comfortable, well equipped and stylishly decorated and we had very helpful communication from the owner just before our visit. Maybe not the prettiest building from the outside due to its interesting history but step inside and wow! And what a view! Stunning sunsets too. Aberystwyth is a short walk away, with many independent shops, cafes and restaurants as well as well-known chains.

Mrs O,

We had a perfect week in a perfect cottage in perfect weather. Brilliant location, lovely walks. Loved Aberystwyth. Many thanks!

Mrs Alice C,

River View is a relaxing home away from home. Beautifully restored property in a stunning location. The owners are very helpful.

Mr Alan D,

The house was clean, comfortable and stylish, the location was perfect for us, right by the sea. Communications about arrival and departure were clear and easy to follow, this was the easiest and most relaxing break we’ve had in years. We’ll be back!

Mrs Esther M,

Overall excellent. I think the property information should emphasise the large step into the property. We were looking for an accessible property because of my dad’s poor mobility. Inside was perfect but it was hard to get him in and out of the property

Mrs Sue E,

The love and care that had been put into the property and it’s presentation was evident. The beds were very comfortable. The layout was perfect for our needs. The information booklet and maps were very useful. And we loved the pictures!

Dr Linda F,

An epic location, quiet accommodations, great vibe, and spectacular Host and Communications....We were extraordinariliy pleased with this find....Thank you!

Mr Todd S,

Very happy with holiday and accommodation. House is in incredible location for exploring Aberystwyth, a little far out for litties to walk but parking was very easy. The views out the window are amazing all day long, all weathers. Such a gorgeous place.

Ms Maya M,

Great cottage in a great location

Mrs Hilary G,

Lovely location and lovely house. Enjoyed the Arts Centre and Museum

The Cresswell family,

Had a lovely time, we had varied weather which didn’t spoil anything. Thanks for a nice break in your holiday home.

Brough family,

We had a terrific visit to Aberystwyth and loved the holiday home. The art and the views were inspiring and the location is perfect!

Kite family,

This is the third booking with OC and I have been very impressed with all aspects. The properties have been very good. This latest one was superlative. The communications are copious but it's all the info you need. My first reaction was that there was too much - emails and texts - but I'm now fine with that because there is little danger of missing something important. Keep up the good work. Till the next time!

Mr Peter H,

Map

River View is situated in an enviable location with stunning coastal and river views, just over half a mile from every amenity that the lovely seaside town of Aberystwyth has to offer. Perched on a rocky outcrop above the river Ystwyth, directly on the Wales Coast Path, and nestled at the foot of an Iron Age Hill fort, it is a perfect location for walkers, nature lovers or those who simply want to relax and enjoy the stunning scenery. It also offers plenty of tranquility as the furthest of a handful of terraced houses along a private drive.

A short walk (approx 15 minutes) brings you to the centre of town and the nearest supermarket is just over 0.5 mile from the house. As one of West Wales’s main towns, Aberystwyth offers varied and plentiful shopping, bars, restaurants and cafes. It also features three beaches (including Tanybwlch on your doorstep), a promenade, a unique cliff railway, a castle and museum, Aberystwyth University, the largest Arts Centre in Wales and the National Library of Wales.

The best places to eat in the area includes Medina (0.5 mile) with fantastic Mediterranean influenced food, Ultracomedia (0.5 mile) offering high quality Spanish tapas, Pysgoty (0.7 mile), a small restaurant specialising in fish and seafood dishes and Baravin (0.7 mile), serving Italian food and overlooking the main promenade. Gwesty Cymru is also highly recommended on the seafront. For a few drinks, The Libertine (0.7 mile) serve great cocktails whilst recommended pubs include The Glengower (1 mile) on the seafront, serving good food and ale, Bottle and Barrel, a trendy craft beer bar, Ship and Castle for local ales, and Rummers by the bridge for live music and outdoor seating.

Aberystwyth offers direct access to the Cambrian Mountains and Rheidol Valley. The Vale of Rheidol Railway offers a very popular day trip up to Devil's Bridge (seasonal timetable), an area steeped in myths and legends. When you arrive in Devil’s Bridge (Pont-ar-fynach in Welsh), follow the riverside walk to see the three bridges built on top of each other and a magnificent waterfall. For activities, Colossal Activities can provide anything from golf to mountain bike hire to fishing and kayak hire. You can also enjoy excursions into the Cambrian Mountains for views, local history and wildlife with Cambrian Safaris. Other attractions include The Magic of Life Butterfly House, the remains of a Welsh Cistercian abbey at Ystrad Fflur (Strata Florida Abbey) and the Animalarium in Borth.
