We have had a lovely stay at the cottage, the beds were very comfortable. We have enjoyed playing badminton in the garden. We can highly recommend the sunset dolphin trip to New Quay. The children particularly enjoyed body boarding at Llangranog beach. We also visited Fishguard to hear some jazz at the festival and then see the carnival. It has been a lovely holiday. The Hutchings family from Kettering - 22nd August 2017
Thank you Frances for a fantastic short break. Don’t want to go home. The cottage is immaculate and has everything we could possibly need. We love the stable door in the bedroom giving access to the decking and lawned area. BBQ and swing chair – lovely touch! The fishing trip you recommended with EAC Fishing in New Quay was amazing. Both the mackerel & the shark fishing. Strongly recommend visitors to go on the trips. We will be back very soon. p.s. never slept so well. John from Derbyshire - 29th May 2017
We had a great holiday and we enjoyed it a lot. Very well maintained and managed, Frances, and thank you for everything. My parents from India came here for the first time and they just loved it. Definitely see you in summer. Kids-friendly home. Love, Kripa & Amar Kripa & Amar from Sutton Coldfield - 26th December 2016
Very clean, spacious & cosy cottage with lovely garden & beautiful views. The community shop and Mill is a short walk, left out of cottage. Nice trail walk from Paddlers Club, over bridge to left, passing shire horses and straight to swimming baths. Days out to Fishguard (1 hour), New Quay – lovely! (30 mins), Poppit Sands (30 mins) and great city day in Swansea (70 mins). Nice restaurant in Mumbles overlooking seafront, great marina, Maritime Museum and Waterpark LC2. No signal for mobile so we used WhatsApp and WiFi here until midnight. Water pressure for showers brilliant - better than at home! Had BBQ in garden and Frances has all equipment in shed. We were recommend a boat trip from New Quay, the 6pm trip – we saw many dolphins up close. Loved it..the wildlife, trails and especially the lovely people we met.Kim and family from Chester - 22nd August 2016
Wonderful stay, thank you! Underfloor heating heavenly after a trip to the cold & windy beach! Recommendations: Aberaeron Harbour Master for food/coffee and Newcastle Emlyn for nice shops. Visit Caws Cenarth cheeses if you have kids or if you love good cheese! We’ll be back in summer.Clara & Stuart, Malvern - 31st December 2015
What an excellent stay! Well equipped cottage meeting all our needs plus more! Didn’t want to leave. Lovely area! Lovely people! Lovely hosts! Many places to explore and see for free. Kids loved the garden & cottage. Many thanks.
From Safiyah (13): Lovely warm and clean cottage. Very spacious. I especially loved the garden swing and the cosy beds. Recommend Llangrannog and Penbryn beaches. Hope to come again soon. Thank you very much, Frances!Abu Lubaynah, Birmingham - 24th August 2015
Our second stay here at Dairy Cottages and it was just as successful as our first. The cottage and garden provided an environment where our children felt safe and happy, and where us grownups could relax, unwind and enjoy quality family time. We are particular fans of Penbryn beach – lovely sand, not too busy and a safe sea for the children and grownups to enjoy!Richard, Jo, Abigail & Thomas Drake - 15th August 2015
We’ve had a wonderful time at this lovely cottage. Diolch yn fawr!Gareth & Cat, Caitlin & Deiniol - Cardiff - 12th August 2015

This West Wales holiday accommodation is located on a farm about 1 mile from the small rural village of Capel Dewi and around 2.5 miles from Llandysul. The cottage is semi-detached and adjoins Y Llaethdy Holiday Cottage. There is a landmark glacial feature called Cerrig Hyllod (‘The Ugly Stones’) in the Clettwr Valley and local history relates how these giant stones served in earlier times as a pulpit for a popular Welsh preacher who lived in the valley. You can see the glacial stones and bluebell wood featured in the Walkers are Welcome short film of nature trails in the area. Visitors are welcome to explore the ancient woodland nearby at Coed Foel, part of Coed Cadw/Woodland Trust which is also featured in the film, with public footpath, bluebell woods in May, and wild Blueberries on the banks of the trails in summer.
Nearby is the Teifi Trail, part of the National Cycle Network, which will take our cycling visitors through some wonderful scenery to the coast at Cardigan, or inland to the wild beauty of the nature reserves around Tregaron.
Less than 30 minutes drive from your West Wales holiday accommodation will bring you to the beautiful coastline of Cardigan Bay, with its clean, unspoilt beaches at Poppit Sands, Llangranog, Penbryn, Mwnt, and charming harbour towns at New Quay, Tresaith and Newport Sands. The Heritage Coast Path provides cliff walking and stunning views all along the coast of Ceredigion and Pembrokeshire with sights of rock pools, sea birds, seals and sometimes dolphins.
Dotted around the countryside are numerous ancient and medieval historical sites, from Celtic hill forts to Roman mines and Welsh monasteries from the Middle Ages. Also worth a visit are the National Botanic Garden of Wales and the restored 17th century house and garden at Aberglasney in Carmarthenshire. There is also a number of excellent restaurants and pubs in the vicinity where you can enjoy home made local fare or more exotic cuisine during your cottage holiday in West Wales. Whether you are interested in walking, cycling, fishing, sailing, golf, beach riding, browsing in local craft and antique shops or visiting historical sites, you will find a range of brochures in the holiday cottage.
A new community shop has recently opened in Capel Dewi, and supplies a wide range of groceries and wonderful homemade local cakes. It is open 6 days a week and run by volunteers. Coffee & teas are also available and it is definitely worth popping in even if only for a friendly chat.
