Dating back to 1927 the Lido sadly closed in 1991 and fell into ruin. However this listed building has now been lovingly restored thanks to funding from Welsh Government, Europe, Heritage Lottery and Rhondda Cynon Taf Council. It remains the only listed Lido in Wales and will offer free swimming for the rest of the year.

A former industrial area that has now reclaimed its natural beauty the Valleys continue to evolve and develop into a attractive area to visit. The attraction is a further boost to the South Wales Valleys and adds to its value as an activity destination following the opening of Bike Park Wales in 2013. The area also has many country parks, castles, museums and large annual events that include the Wales Velathon to name just one.

Best of Wales offers self -catering accommodation including cottages, lodges, log cabins and apartments throughout Wales. For further details visitwww.bestofwales.co.uk #bestofwales #PontyLido
