Description

Escape the hustle and bustle with a group getaway to this delightful, 100-acre working farm in the heart of the Brecon Beacons National Park. Sleeping 15 guests across two luxurious farm cottages and a rustic barn conversion, this is the perfect base for extended families and groups of friends looking to unwind and embrace the great outdoors. Walkers and cyclists are spoiled with scenic trails, some of which pass by the property. Climb to the peak of Pen y Fan (South Wales’s highest point) just 12 miles away, explore the Glasfynydd Forest or the Carmarthen Fans (both within 10 miles), or join the 50-mile Epynt Way with paths running through the farm. For nearby towns oozing with Brecon Beacons charm, visit Sennybridge (3 miles) with its welcoming local pub and shop, or the vibrant market town of Brecon (8 miles) known for its grand cathedral, military history, and independent shops and cafes. For those who enjoy life on the water, head to the banks of the River Usk (3 miles) or visit the largest natural lake in South Wales, Llangorse Lake (18 miles).

The first property, a 4-bedroom, luxurious farm cottage, combines rural charm with homely, modern comforts. Walk into the social heart of the home, the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. Unwind in the lounge space where sumptuous, vibrant sofas are arranged around a large TV and a glowing wood burner. When stomachs start to rumble, find that the well-appointed kitchen has all you need to whip up holiday feasts for the group, who can gather at the large dining table nearby, or at the breakfast bar if numbers are low.  When day turns to night, find the first bedroom on the ground floor with easy accessibility, an en-suite wet room, and a rise-and-recline double bed that can be converted into twins upon request. Upstairs await three scenic bedrooms, all of which boast king-size beds, with two rooms offering additional double sofa beds. Serving the three bedrooms are two en-suite shower rooms and an en-suite bathroom.

The second property is a beautifully renovated, dog-friendly barn, offering plenty of space and countryside allure, featuring exposed stone walls and wooden beams that greet you on entry. Walk into the open-plan lounge/diner, which connects to the well-appointed kitchen. Unwind in the lounge, reclining in the colourful seating in front of the TV. When it’s time to eat, set the dining table and walk through to the country-style kitchen. Amongst the handmade, oak units here, you’ll find everything needed to prepare a memorable holiday meal, perhaps using the ingredients you’ve sourced earlier in the day. At night, head upstairs where two delightful bedrooms offer a peaceful night’s sleep. The master bedroom boasts a double bed set beneath exposed beams as well as an indulgent, free-standing bath in the corner of the room. Finally, a cosy single bedroom is served by the well-appointed shower room that completes the interior.

The final property is a charming, two-bedroom farm cottage with just as much countryside character as its sister retreats. Step inside, and to your right be greeted by the welcoming lounge/diner. With exposed stone walls and wooden beams overhead, it’s easy to unwind and embrace your surroundings in here. Relax in the comfy seating and flick on the TV as the chosen chef prepares dinner in the kitchen. Featuring a traditional food pass, the kitchen boasts all the space and kit needed to cook up a feast for the group, who can sit down at the dining table nearby to plan the next day’s adventure over food. When it’s time for bed, follow the cottage stairs to the first floor and choose from two peaceful bedrooms. Served by a well-appointed family bathroom, these rooms include two sumptuous double beds set beneath the eaves, with skylights allowing natural light to pour in each morning.

Outside, all three properties are surrounded by peaceful, rolling farmland, making for lovely morning or post-dinner strolls. Guests also have access to splendid garden space, where outdoor table and chairs invite evenings of al fresco food and drinks. At the four-bedroom cottage, guests also have the luxury of a 14-person swim spa to soak weary walking muscles.

Reviews

We had 3 cottages and all I can say is that everything was excellent. Very well equipped, spotlessly clean and a great central location. The farmer even did an Easter egg hunt for the little ones.

Mrs T,

The cottages we stayed in were well stocked with everything we needed, beautiful touches such as valentines sweeties for each of us. We had a great time and so nice to see a working farm where they were more than happy to come talk to us and we even helped deliver a lamb! Amazing weekend we will be back soon

Miss W,
