What a superb cottage to stay in. So well equipped with everything you need on a self catering holiday.A beautiful spacious cottage with extremely comfortable beds. We all slept so well! Stunning views. We all had a very enjoyable holiday and enjoyed our first visit to Wales as a family.David, Margaret, Caleb, Lydia, & Jess (Hertfordshire) - 5th August 2018
Words can not do justice, however Foelfach cottage is absolutely fabulous, in an idyllic setting. It is so relaxing and peaceful. Attention to detail is second to none! The cottage is cosy and has everything one could possibly need for a self catering break. Everything is arranged perfectly! We have had the lovliest, relaxing time and we could not have asked for a more beautiful spot! We have thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the kindness of the owners ( Edward & Sue ). Hence we will definitely return again. A GIGANTIC THANK YOU!From Salah, Wisal and little Omar, and not to forget my father and mother-in-law - 19th July 2018
An amazing place. Beautiful, natural surroundings. On top of the world. We all loved it here. Everything we needed was catered for. Thank you for the extra touches, cake, chocolate and information books etc. We will be back....Jackie, Norman, Garry and Terry from Watford - 12th July 2018
We loved this little cottage and we would love to return, I loved all the photos that you provided on your website that was why I chose this property because you can see exactly what you are getting. Every thing was excellent, well done to your company. I have found Best of Wales to be an excellent company to do business with. This property is the best we have stayed in, the owners were brilliant, nothing was too much trouble, they waited around for us to arrive as we were held up in traffic, then there was the little personal touches in the cottage toiletries, chocolates. wine, it was like a 5* hotel.Alison from Suffolk - 8th July 2018
What a fantastic place! We have loved Foel Fach cottage. The views are so spectacular and so very peaceful. The cottage is very well equipped with everything you could possibly need. We loved all the toiletries, chocolate etc. We have had some lovely days out and the weather has been fantastic all week. We couldn't have wished for a better place to stay and will hopefully be back one day. We can not thank Edward and Sue enough for their kindness.Alison and Karl Johnson from Suffolk - 6th July 2018
As we drove away from Foel Fach, we decided that we could not have found a better place to stay. We were warmly welcomed upon our arrival and given a tour of the property. The essentials were provided including some welcoming items such as half a dozen eggs and some cheese. The location is spectacular with a view that is out of this world. Foel Fach is close to all the places that we were interested in including Snowdonia National Park and the beautiful scenery of Montgomeryshire. If you want a quiet holiday in Mid Wales, with ready access to Mid and North Wales, you could not do any better than Foel Fach. Thank you Edward and Sue.Anthony from Ontario, Canada - 21st June 2018
We are so glad to have found Foelfach through the Best of Wales website. It is one of the few places that we have stayed in that is even better in reality then it was advertised ! We were very lucky to have beautiful weather while we were here and that let us enjoy the spectacular scenery. I think I could sit on the patio for hours just enjoying the vista. The cottage is superbly equipped and we did not want for anything in the way of housewares etc. I have no hesitation in recommending Foelfach to friends and familyTony, Elaine, Leona and Graham from Canada and Bristol - 15th June 2018
This beautiful house meant so much to us! I loved sleeping in the relaxing bed that you prepared so nicely! We mostly stayed here, but on some occasions we went to see the waterfalls, lakes and mountains! Yummy cake that we demolished! Already looking forward to our next stay!Ruby, 8 years old - 31st May 2018
Thank you for your warm welcome. It feels so much like coming home! Everything is perfect! We have seen misty days, wet days and very sunny days! Each has their own allure. Sue , Edward & girls are a delightful family, who relish sharing their wonderful cottage with their lucky guests! The special touches really did make our visit magical! I even had a birthday cake and a card to welcome me! How lucky was I Mandy & Huw - 19th May 2018
Beautiful cottage, a view to die for, beautiful interior, very clean and tidy, very sympathetic and hospitable owners, definitely a place to visit again....Cornelis from Netherlands - 14th May 2018
If I had to describe this lovely cottage it would be that it is THE BEST OF the Best of Wales' portfolio!! The cottage (Foel Fach) was really beautiful and the owners were lovely. The weather was incredible (May Day bank holiday weekend) and the area of Mid Wales really scenic and a perfect base for accessing southern Snowdonia - we came to Wales to climb Cadair Idris which was fab. Helen from Oxfordshire - 11th May 2018
We have loved the tranquillity of Foel Fach with the beautiful Welsh countryside laid out before us and changing with each day as it dresses with spring leaves. Lovely, peaceful, scenic property.Jane from Herefordshire - 22nd April 2018
Had a lovely few days here at Foelfach. Beautiful warm sunshine. Coffee and wine (depending on the time of day!!) on the patio, taking in the beautiful surroundings. A lovely warm, comfortable cottage with lots of special touches. Managed to take a photo of the Airbus A 400m, as the location of the cottage is on the hillside, at the start / exit of the Machynlleth loop. Fantastic variety of wildlife including a sighting of a Goshawk. Kites are quite common, as are Buzzards. We look forward to a return visitJane & Martin , Hereford - 16th April 2018
This is a wonderfully characterful and comfortable property with great views, in lovely countryside, fairly easy to get to but with a feeling of real remoteness. The property has been very sympathetically modernised and the great care and attention of the friendly farming family who own it is evident. Enjoy the peace and quiet and walks from the door.David from Kidlington - 8th April 2018
Foelfach is a great place. An unseasonably cold spring, but great to get back to the cottage and warm ourselves by the fire. The variety of landscape here is stunning. Hills, Marsh Forests, farmland and a car journey away to sea cliffs, estuary and beaches! The sight of woodpeckers flying out of the misty trees was pretty surreal, not to mention a brief glimpse of an albino Chaffinch. Thanks Edward and Sue, we really enjoyed our stayHugh & Jane ( London) - 7th April 2018
We have had a lovely time here. The cottage has everything that we could possibly have needed, and very comfortable too. We enjoyed the easter decorations and treats. In a week of mixed weather ( snow, wet and dry, cold and some real warmth), we had marvellous walks from the cottage and two long loops taking in the Glaslyn Reserve each time. Aberdovey provided a welcome break from the walking. We thank Edward and Sue (and the girls) for their kindness and all the care and attention that they have given and give to the cottage. It's a great place!David and Jackie - 6th April 2018
Thank you so much for a wonderful stay! The views are breath taking, the cottage so lovely and cosy. A home from home. We are looking forward to coming back in the summer!Patricia, Alex, Little Mia & Little Julia - 20th February 2018
Edward & Sue were perfect hosts, supplying us with mince pies, cake, chocolates, cava and a glowing fire on our arrival. It exceeded our expectations and added a lovely personal touch. We were lucky enough to see a magical dusting of snow on arrival. The views from the cottage are beautiful and is amazing to watch the ever changing landscape. Our stay was a Christmas / New Year to remember.Christina, Ben, Julie & Russ ( Cambridgeshire) - 8th January 2018
We had a fabulous stay at Foel Fach cottage over the New Year! Hosts Sue and Edward were perfect in every way, and the wonderful homemade delights (mince pies and fruit cake), divine, thanks! Equipped with everything you could possibly need, the cottage is set in the most amazing location with the ever changing landscape providing more entertainment than any electrical device possibly could (although there is TV/Freeview/DVD/Games/Wifi Internet for after dark if required!) :) Would recommend!Ben from St Neots - 7th January 2018
What a stunning place! Valleys and glens below the cottage, and beautiful ever changing sky. Sue and Edward mastered the art of hospitality, with the warmth of welcoming gestures! Foelfach is truly a unique place. Thank you so much for fantastic memories, that we will reflect on. We had a magical Christmas. We will definitely be back hopefully in the summer.David & Ania - 25th December 2017
We have enjoyed a perfectly relaxing and comfortable stay in your beautiful cottage. Not only was it warm, cosy, and nicely decorated, but also very practically considered. We wanted for nothing and the extra little touches like the delicious cake and the flowers and bits for the girls were a happy addition. Thank you for the excellent recommendations. The Talyllyn railway was really fun and we seemed to have chosen the best day for it, as it didn't rain at all and we saw the sunshine! We will miss the spectacular view and the sheep, of course!! We hope to return one day in the near future.Sarah, Christopher, Ophelia and Bernadette - 6th November 2017

Our stay at the cottage has been memorable! We are so glad we chose Foelfach to spend our wedding anniversary. It truly is a lovely place- beautifully decorated, comfortable, cosy and homely.

The views from the cottage are exceptional and uplifting. If only we could take them with us! Although we had some rain during our stay, we did however enjoy staying indoors and using it as an excuse to get the woodburner going!

However more than anything we have been touched by Edward and Sue's hospitality during our stay and all those little things that words cannot explain!

Naz, Kay,& the boys - 12th August 2017
It was an ideal place to stay to visit the Royal Welsh show, as it was a lovely drive through gorgeous sceneryFriends from Scotland - 25th July 2017

I think other guests have already said but I need to say it again. The cottage was a true delight! We were surrounded by amazing scenery, peace and complete privacy. We couldn't ask for a better stay. Thank you so much for your hospitality and for all the kind thoughts you've put to make our stay in Wales memorable! We shall keep all these memories to help us fight the madness back in city life!!

Popular attractions in the area include the red kites, Hafren Forest, Clywedog Reservoir and Dam, Snowdonia National Park (13 miles), the largest wind farm in Europe and the Centre for Alternative Technology (14 miles). Amongst popular activities in the Area are the Forest Experience Rally School in Carno and within a few miles there is pony trekking, quad trekking, golf, cycling, clay pigeon shooting, narrow gauge railways, bird watching, walking, sailing and fishing. Lovely beaches within easy reach at Aberdyfi and Borth (about 40 minutes).
