Reviews

Beautiful cottage, had everything we needed, very spacious, lovely views ,cattle and sheep in field backing on to the garden, which was very pet friendly,

Mrs P,

Beautiful, modern, clean cottage in a stunning location! Fab views over the garden and across the fields to the sea. Isolated and very rural, which is just what we wanted, but only 10 minutes to Aberdaron, with its beautiful beach, Spar, fish and chip shop, ice cream shop, bakery, bar and restaurants. There is also a wood-fired pizza place and a cafe/coffee shop at Plas Carmel nearby. We loved watching the sheep in the mornings - our dog loved them too and is missing the huge enclosed garden already! Hot tub was a lovely bonus. There is a National Trust walk to the coastal path just across the road, down the track to the left of the farm. Loved it - we are already planning to go back!

Mrs Katie D,

Have stopped at this accommodation before, location is fantastic and owners really helpful. If I was being fussy, settees are getting a bit saggy and some more glasses would be helpful, but really am very happy

Mr Andrew R,

We enjoyed a lovely family holiday at Bwthyn Carreg. The bungalow was first class and spotlessly clean. An excellent location for walking, spending time on the beach and visiting the Lleyn peninsula.

Mr Christopher B,

First class accomodation nice quite site with no hassle

Mr Stephen R,

We had a lovely stay, the cottage is warm, well equipped and very clean. A short walk to the nearest beach with an excellent cafe and also close to the coastal path. The hot tub was great to come back to after a day out walking. The Small supermarket 2 miles away and also a pub and cafes. Overall a lovely relaxing break

Mrs Lesley A,

Map

Ideally located for your coastal cottage holidays on the Llyn Peninsula. Situated on the opposite side of a country lane from the owners’ stock farm, and surrounded by beautiful, tranquil countryside. Within walking distance (0.25 mile) of the National Trust beach at Porthoer (Whistling Sands) - a beautiful beach where the sand does actually whistle under your feet when the conditions are right. You can also join the coastal path here to enjoy spectacular views of Ynys Enlli (Bardsey Island), along the Peninsula and towards Snowdonia.

Ynys Enlli, a former site of religious pilgrimage is now a National Nature Reserve that can be visited by boat from Porth Meudwy, just 2 miles from your cottage. Also 2 miles away is the idyllic seaside village of Aberdaron. This is the most western village on the tip of the Llyn Peninsula where you will find a lovely sandy beach, cafes, two excellent pubs with restaurants, a village Bakery where you can get fresh bread every morning, Spar shop, newsagents and a Beach shop.

There are also a number of other amazing beaches for you to enjoy on your coastal cottage holidays, as well as the coastal resort of Abersoch and Pwllheli, the ‘capital’ of the Llyn Peninsula. The Llyn Peninsula is a designated area of outstanding natural beauty where the Welsh language and way of life still flourish. It is also renowned for its water sport and delightful coastal villages. With 84 miles of stunning coastline, an array of hills of varying height inland plus the majestic mountains of Snowdonia on your doorstep, it’s also a great place for a walking holiday.

Other recommended days out include a visit to the historical Plas yn Rhiw manor house (6 miles), Felin Uchaf Educational Centre (5 miles) and the numerous castles, including Cricieth (26 miles) and Caernarfon (35 miles). For family days out, Glasfryn Parc is a must with its go-karting, ten-pin bowling, archery etc, along with the Ffestiniog Railway, the Italian village of Portmeirion, Greenwood Forest Park and the National Slate Museum at Llanberis.
