Reviews

We had a lovely time, the owner left us cake and wine which was a lovely touch.Linda from Derbyshire - 17th July 2018
Property was good.
Recommendations: We missed it but seek out storytelling at Felin Uchaf. Go to the NT visitor centre at Aberdaron. It's small but gives a lovely intro to the area. Talk to the guides there. They know the best viewpoints. Walking around Uwchmynydd near Aberdaron, beautiful. Fish bar Aberdaron is good. Gallery and walks around Glyn y Weddw. Great views above Llanbedrog. Church at Aberdaron, very Interesting and peaceful. Porthor was our go to beach. Beach cafe there was good.Carolyn from Atlanta / London/ Liverpool - 4th August 2017
A group of around 10 girls from the length of England met at this lovely house to have a 'classy low key hen party'. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left, our stay was perfect. We were overwhelmed with the size and standard of the house - it was beautiful and really good value for money. The setting was also beautiful and truly peaceful. The owner also left us a lovely box of shortbread which was a really nice touch. Best of Wales could not have been more attentive and helpful with our booking. They really went out of their way on a few matters that arose, which was very much appreciated. I cannot recommend this company enough if you are looking to book a break in Wales. Thank you to both the owner of the property and Best of Wales for making this the perfect stay. The then bride-to-be tied the knot on Saturday and I know she had had a hen and wedding she will always think so fondly of.
Thank you again.
Recommneds: The little beach through the farm is beautiful and untrampled Hannah from Manchester - 13th June 2017
Situated in the middle of the country side, in the beautiful Llyn Peninsula. The 360 degrees views are stunning! The house is very comfortable, spacious and very well equipped. It was spoteless! Ideal for a family holiday. We had a great weekend there. Long walks in the surrounding countryside and the nearby beaches. We would love to go back and stay longer!

Declared a National Nature Reserve since 1986, it offers a fabulous diversity of b...

Local Area

Located within its own enclosed garden, this detached holiday accommodation with sea views is surrounded by beautiful Llyn Peinsula countryside. Hendy Iago enjoys a tranquil setting near the coast between the picturesque seaside villages of Aberdaron (3.5 miles) and Morfa Nefyn (10 miles). The popular coastal resort of Abersoch is also within 11 miles. The Wales Coast Path can be joined from the doorstep and a 10 minute walk brings you to the coastline itself. A 15 minute walk (0.7 mile) brings you to one of the Llyn Peninsula's best kept secrets – a beautiful sandy cove called Porth Iago. The National Trust beach of Porthoer (Whistling Sands - where the sand does actually whistle when the conditions are right) is also just 1.5 miles away and includes a beach-side cafe.

Aberdaron – a picturesque Welsh seaside village on the western point of the Llyn Peninsula offers a range of amenities. This includes two pub/restaurants (Ty Newydd and The Ship) with excellent food, lovely cafes, thatched roof bakery, Spar and National Trust shop. The slightly bigger coastal resort of Abersoch offers a wide range of amenities including restaurants and shops. Pwllheli (15 miles) is the unofficial 'capital' of the Llyn Peninsula and has a good range of local amenities including a variety of independent shops, cafes and restaurants, supermarket, banks and 2 markets - one on Wednesdays and the other on Sundays (May to September).

Amongst the main attractions, you have the sacred island of Ynys Enlli (Bardesy Island) - once a site of religious pilgrimage, now a National Nature Reserve. Boat trips are available from Porth Meudwy (5 miles) to Bardsey Island. Slightly further than Porth Meudwy, on the most westerly point of the Peninsula is Uwchmynydd - a historic headland offering a spectacular viewing point towards Barsey Island and the coast. As these examples suggest, the Llyn Peninsula is a designated area of outstanding natural beauty and Hendy Iago offers an ideal base to explore this special part of Wales.

The Llyn Peninsula, where the Welsh language and way of life still flourish, is renowned for its beautiful beaches and watersport whilst the majestic mountains of Snowdonia are also within a short travelling distance. There are numerous activities in the area including fishing, horse-riding, golf and Glasfryn Parc where you can enjoy go-karting, ten-pin bowling, archery etc. Plas Glyn-y-Weddw, a magnificent Manor with galleries, beautiful gardens and tea room with sea views is well worth a visit, whilst both the Ffestiniog and Welsh Highlands Railways also offer great days out. Not to mention Cricieth and Caernarfon castles, the Italian village of Portmeirion, a walk or train ride up Snowdon and much more.
