Reviews

It was perfect. Louise from the UK - 23rd July 2018
Easy, the cottage was comfortable and well equipped. If we needed anything Catherine and her husband were on hand to help. Stabal Madrun/Home welted recently been refurbished in the kitchen and a wet room installed. The master bedroom had the added luxury of underfloor heating and a mechanical reclining king size bed. Large courtyard for the kids to ride their bikes, a small play area with plenty of play equipment and a low - walled yard. Our 10 year old daughter particularly liked going out on one of the farmer's daily rounds of the field (make sure they're wearing something that can be covered in mud if the ground's wet).
Hell's Mouth is an easy walk for the able bodied about half mile down the road, and less than quarter of a mile from the car park to the beach down a sand path. If you've small children or lots to carry I'd recommend taking a vehicle! Take buckets and spades as there's no shop or amenities. There's a snack van there at weekends during term time in May and June. Parking is free but limited.
There's a lovely, relatively easy access beach at Llanbedrog with a national trust car park.
National Trust operates the car parks at Aberdaron, Whistling Sands and Nefyn.
If you go to Nefyn and either cross the golf course or walk 20 minutes across the beach there's a charming beachside hamlet with a pub that serves food 12-4, walking further around the coast beyond the lifeboat station will bring you to an area where you can reputedly see a family of seals regularly basking out of water... We didn't manage this because the weather changed before we got that far!
There's a relatively level (approx) 5K circuit from the cottage along via Llangenan, just keep taking the left hand road turnings.
Stocking up with leaflets of local attractions prior to visits is worthwhile especially as many have money off vouchers. Cadw do an Explorer Pass for heritage sites, there's a Snowdon Pass which includes discounted rates for some of the attractions near the national park. Also look for TenTop leaflet.Jess from Manchester - 12th June 2017
Lovely cottage and surroundings. Good restaurants in Abersoch. Wheelchair access limited in most areas. Llanbedrog well worth visiting.Barbara from Manchester - 21st May 2016

"A very comfortable, well equipped cottage in a beautiful area"

There were six of us, and the accommodation was more than adequate for our needs. Catherine was very welcoming and helpful. Our week was blessed with lovely sunny weather, and we were able to enjoy the lovely beaches in the area. The games room was enjoyed by the grandchildren. A thoroughly enjoyable week in an excellent cottage

The Lee Family - 24th July 2011
"Lovely comfortable accommodation"

We have recently returned from our holiday, we can thoroughly recommend this bungalow, which catered from all our needs, including Dads disability. The accommodation was spacious and well thought out, the views were lovely, the beaches spectacular, hope to make a return visit soon.

Things to see

Morfa Nefyn / Porth Dinllaen Beach

Morfa Nefyn / Porth Dinllaen Beach is probably best known for its pub, the Ty Coch. The pub is just one of a handful of houses that line the top of the beach, nestled behind a steep little headland. This sandy, pet-friendly beach sweeps all the way around to Morfa Nefyn from Porth Dinllaen. There’s a shop and café by the car park entrance (which enjoys fantastic views to Yr Eifl and Anglesey).
