Reviews

Beautiful location, lovely, clean and cosy property. Would highly recommend, especially if you have dogs. Our two loved the walks and the beach.

Mrs M,

A cozy cottage in a stunning location, we enjoyed every moment at this property. We are a family of 7 from 80-11 years old and the accommodation was more than suitable for us. Having a large bedroom and ensuite on the ground floor was essential for our family and the step-free ground floor made a huge difference to our experience. The owner was communicative, friendly and even decorated the house for Christmas before we arrived. Highly, highly recommended.

Miss C,

A great property with everything we needed and more comfort than we could have asked for. It comes with a beautiful view, no matter the weather, and is really close to all the attractions that North Wales has to offer. We'll definitely come back again!

Mr H,

As soon as I arrived at the cottage, I thought what a brilliant find. The amazing location is perfect. Watching the sun set over the sea, and the castle light up, with the mountains in the background, could not have been more relaxing and tranquil. The property itself was perfectly clean. Thank you SO much, we all loved it ❤️

Mrs M,

What a view. Sitting in the conservatory of on the patio and looking down to the beach and across the bay to Criccieth is a great view. If you like walking you can walk out of the front door down to the beach and all the way to Criccieth and beyond. The property is very isolated (a good thing) but has a stables next door which was not intrusive at all. This property is described as a 4* which I think is maybe a little optimistic. The facilities were good but some of the materials and workmanship were a bit DIY. However, what a view.

Mr D,

just a couple of small issues, the drain cover in the garden was not fitted correctly and my daughter fell through it ,I reset it, it is now safe, the down stairs shower tray fills up, drainage needs cleaning , the extractor above the cooker is not extracting needs new filter, set off smoke alarms while we were cooking, other than that 10 out of 10 stunning location, we will love to go back.

Mr Charles T,

Perfect location. Lovely cottage. Great walks tho challenging for the older members of our party. Dogs loved the beach.

Mrs Janet M,

?

Mr David B,

A very comfortable and spacious cottage in a fabulous location. A lovely place for a holiday. The only negatives are no hand soap was supplied other than in the kitchen so we had to go and buy some, the property needs more Wi-Fi routers- we had to keep moving the router around - and the bed/mattress downstairs was incredibly bouncy when anyone moved. Overall a very nice cottage.

Mrs Katharine F,

The holiday exceeded our expectation. Very accurate description of the property. Easy to book. Excellent communication from Original Cottages prior, during and after our holiday.

Ms Debbie P,

Loved everything about it : )

Mrs Paula W,

This beautiful cottage in a stunning location made an incredible holiday

Mr Darren H,

We have stayed in this cottage last November and rebooked for this year. This cottage is in a great location with lovely walks straight from the door.

Mrs Karen J,

Map

Peaceful and detached, this spacious and traditional stone built farmhouse is situated on the headland above Black Rock Sands, between Morfa Bychan and Criccieth, North Wales. It is a truly breath-taking location which commands panoramic views of Snowdonia National Park, Barmouth Bay and Criccieth Castle.

Black Rock's 3 miles of sandy beach is just 1/2 a mile by car or on foot via the Wales Coast Path that can be accessed from your garden gate. There's a convenience store and chip shop within a mile of your Morfa Bychan accommodation, whilst at the other side of the headland, Criccieth Beach can also be accessed by following the Wales Coast Path for less than 1/2 a mile.

Numerous recommended restaurants can be found in Criccieth, including Poachers, Dylan's and Moelwyn Restaurants. If you wish to eat here, you could either enjoy a beautiful 2 mile walk along Criccieth Beach, or by road (4.5 miles). As the home town of Cadwalader's ice cream you also have a great excuse to treat yourself to dessert. The popular harbour town of Porthmadog is also within 3 miles where you can catch a steam train through forested and mountainous scenery to the walled castle town of Caernarfon or to the slate mining town of Blaenau Ffestiniog.

Blaenau Ffestiniog (15 miles) is also home to a range of adventures, from ZipWorld Titan and Bounce Below to Llechwedd Slate Mines and Antur Stiniog biking centre. Other prime attractions in this central part of Snowdonia includes Portmeirion Italianate Village (7 miles), the World Heritage Site of Harlech Castle (13 miles) and Snowdon, the highest mountain in Wales. In summary, with some of Wales' best attractions on your doorstep, this area will most definitely keep you entertained.
