Reviews

The house was everything we could have wanted and more. The rooms are spacious, and warm, and spotlessly clean. We have managed five star holiday cottage lettings in Pembrokeshire, and we felt the house was at the highest standard. Everything we needed was there. The gardens are beautiful. I had much delight in feeling the history of the house, and the way in which the house had grown over time, and waking up listening to the birdsong, and the sound of the sheep. The house was an absolute joy to be in, and we felt sad to leave. We all said we would love to stay again, and we probably will. The welcome pack was perfect. Many thanks for the tea, coffee, welsh cakes etc. We were very pleased to hear so much Welsh being spoken in the area, from young to old. We spoke more Welsh as a result. We are from a part of Wales where the Welsh language is not used as much, so we were very pleased to have the opportunity to speak Welsh more, and it was very natural. Any visitors from further afield, there are some useful Welsh phrases in the information pack at the cottage, the locals very much do appreciate visitors attempting to use local phrases. All the locals were super friendly. The water comes from a spring from the hills behind the house, and it was beautiful. The water is very good for your skin we discovered! We cannot say anymore other than we had the most joyful time, and we feel so lucky to have had the privilege of staying in such a beautiful home. Our family members are between the ages of 10 and 42. We all loved the house. Our dog was very happy there as well, and was made to feel welcome as soon as we arrived by the dog's water bowl outside. There are beautiful footpaths from the house ( important to keep dogs on a lead, and close the gates as there are livestock surrounding the property). We will be spreading the word to all we know about this beautiful home. To anyone who is considering staying, just book it straight away, you will be so happy you did.

Mrs S,

Excellent accommodation and facilities, that provide a perfect base for exploring N. Wales.

Mr L,

We loved staying in the cottage. It was very cosy and warm and we liked all the period features such as the stonework and ceiling beams. The views are lovely in clear weather but it's also atmospheric in the fog. We enjoyed being able to walk up into the hills from the cottage. It was a lovely place to spend our Christmas

Mrs B,

We had the most glorious break. The cottage was cosy, comfortable and very well equipped. The surroundings are breathtaking. Excellent hosts. It was very easy to communicate with them and they happily accommodated our needs.

Mrs J,

Lovely comfortable, well stocked cottage with lovely welcome pack. Great location for our touring around the Llyn and castles. Everything we needed. Thank you

Mrs H,

Beautiful house in a stunning location. The view is incredible and we were lucky to have glorious weather so could see all along the coast! Everything was lovely in the house and we appreciated all the thoughtful touches like the fresh flowers, logs, and blankets on the beds. Very convenient location - access is up a narrow lane but there are plenty of passing places and it is not far at all to the main road, then easy access to everywhere! There is a lovely walk through one of the gates near the stream (look for the one with the yellow arrow on it) which goes up the hillside for panoramic views. We loved our visit and would happily stay again.

Miss C,

Cottage was immaculate, spacious and very cosy; views were spectacular. We loved that it's within a working farm and were so close to the animals. We witnessed the farmer herding the sheep in the field immediately opposite which was wonderful. It feels very peaceful and private, but not isolated. My dog absolutely loved it and really enjoyed the freedom. He's not great with other dogs at the moment so is rarely off lead. The fields are enclosed, but sheep did occasionally escape the fields and wonder around the garden so as long as we did a quick sweep beforehand and then provided supervision we felt relaxed letting him off lead to roam the grounds. He is well trained and there is potential for a less well behaved dog to jump low walls/fences so would advise caution. Of course, dogs should be kept on leads at all times when following the public footpaths. Highly recommend.

Mr J,

A very comfortable cottage in a beautiful location with a high quality of decor and furnishings. It proved very suitable for our 3-generation family get-together.

Mr P,

A beautiful rural retreat. Excellent cottage, very clean and comfortable. Great location for hills and beaches and lovely to relax with beautiful views.

Mrs D,

There are a lot of superlatives in previous reviews of this cottage, they are all fully warranted. Maes y Llan is an excellent base for visiting the Lleyn Peninsula, which itself is very scenic & atmospheric. We intend to return to both at some stage in the future.

Mr H,

This is a lovely property in a relatively remote location, in an idyllic setting with views to die for. Ideal for walking including from the property itself and close to equally beautiful coastal locations. The property is ideal for a group. It is well equipped, spacious downstairs and comfortable with the exception of the mattresses in the fourth bedroom containing 3 single beds which need replacing. We would definitely return.

Mr A,

Fabulous cottage in a fabulous location, with stunning views over the valley and sea. The cottage has been styled to a high standard and is very comfortable and cosy with everything you need. Including a lovely welcome hamper of goodies. Our children and dogs also loved it.
