We really enjoyed our stay, it is a lovely cottage and the owner is a lovely lady. This is our second visit to this property. Cae Merllen is in a lovely location with mountain views, close to lovely walks and beaches. Big choice of dog friendly holiday cottages on the Best of Wales website, easy to use website and email directions to cottage location with ideas of places to visit, even common phrases to use in Welsh. Will definitely use Best of Wales cottages again.Julie from South Yorkshire - 15th December 2018
This cottage is in such a beautiful location, we're going to have to come back! My partner and I took our 2 labs on a walking holiday, based in this area. The cottage itself was lovely, and suited our needs perfectly. The location is key, with the closest walk, the Torrent Walk, being literally a few hundred metres away. Also go for the Precipice Walk and try to find the Blue Lake. Or you go for a flat walk to Barmouth, from Dolgellau. This cottage ticked all our boxes, and meant I had a really relaxed and enjoyable week away, and so did my partner and the dogs. Thanks.Phil from UK - 16th November 2018
A lovely dog friendly cottage attached to a farm, perfect for a relaxing getaway with lots of lovely walks nearby and a beautiful beach within 12 miles. Surrounded by beautiful scenery whatever the weather may bring. The cottage was so quiet and peaceful, with a lovely cosy living area, and well equipped kitchen, perfect for our needs.Julie from Sheffield - 21st October 2018

Excellent location. Character cottage with a homely feel. Lovely owner and can't forget Carlo the dog!! Highly recommended this property. Walk from Dolgellau to Barmouth is a great day out. Visits to the many narrow gauge railways is highly recommended.Karen - 28th August 2017
Excellent, very clean, warm, lovely helpful owner. Home from home.
Recommendations: Cross Foxes, George III Retsaurant/Hotel, Torrent Pub in Dolgellau. Walking in the countryside and hills.Couple from Essex - 30th April 2017
Cosy cottage. Very relaxing. Gorgeous views. Friendly hosts. Brilliant walks within a few miles of the cottage.Family from Cambridge - 9th April 2017
It was a lovely cottage with a warm welcome from the owner. We were only there 2 nights but visited Bounce Below, Barmouth & the Snowdon railway in Llanberis.Family from South Yorkshire - 20th March 2017
We had a lovely welcome from Gwennan on our arrival, the cottage was well equipped, homely and fitted what we required perfectly! We thoroughly enjoyed our visits to the Zip World attractions and spent our Saturday climbing Snowdon. The town of Dolgellau is only five minutes away and is quite quaint as was the larger town of Machynlleth.Jenna from Llanelli - 13th March 2017
