We were visiting family in a nearby town so mainly used the property as a place to sleep. We did find the house to be very comfortable though having everything we needed. The bedrooms were a good size with very comfortable beds. Both the garden, the bath and the baby grand were very much appreciated. The beach and castle in Llansteffan is lovely - we've been once before and that is why we chose to stay in Llansteffan this time round. This time we also enjoyed Pendine beach and Laugharne with the castle and Dylan Thomas' boathouse as well as the towns of Emlyn and Kidwelly.Malin from Sweden - 6th July 2017
Lovely spacious property. The baby grand piano was one of the reasons we chose the house. Very well equipped. Lovely comfy beds.
Tips: Local towns such as Tenby gets very busy in the summer months and parking close to the town centre can be a problem. Folly Farm is a great day out, even with teenagers (because of the vintage fun fair and zoo) but again it gets very busy so go as early in the day as possible.Family from Sheffield - 13th August 2016
Great property, very spacious and full of character. Every thing you needed, very nice garden. Our son made great use of the baby grand piano. Loads of local walks. The coastal paths. The Castle pub in Llansteffen was very friendly, had a good atmosphere and served good food.Roy from Winchester - 9th July 2016
We all felt at home....very comfortable...loved the piano (a reason we booked the property), great garden.
Tips: Get a map of local walks.....stock up on food in Carmarthan because there are no other shops.Lisa from Reading - 25th June 2016
It was a family holiday in February, to my home region which I live far away from. I wanted my young grandsons to meet their relatives and to experience Welsh village life by the sea and a castle. The local fish and chips and café are very good. and go for lots of walksSian from Cambridge - 23rd February 2016

This Llansteffan Holiday cottage is a semi-detached property set in the heart of the village with the local pub, shop and a restaurant nearby. Llansteffan is allegedly the village which Dylan Thomas based ‘Under Milk Wood’ upon and it is also famous for its castle and estuary beach. There are also many other beaches close by including Scott Bay that seems to be a firm favourite with families. Traditionally the village relied on farming and fishing and it is situated on the estuaries of the famous salmon river the Tywi and the Taf. Within the village, a restaurant called ‘Ty Bwyta’ is worth a visit and The Sticks and The Castle are 2 great local pubs where you can enjoy a friendly atmosphere. Fish and chips are also available from Florries down at the beach.
The market town of Carmarthen and the nearest supermarket is only 7 miles away and whilst supermarket deliveries are also available, we would thoroughly recommend you try the local produce available in the local shop and from surrounding farm shops. Some of the attractions in the area include the National Botanic Gardens, Ffos Las Racecourse, Folly Farm, Oakwood and the Blue Lagoon Water Park which means there is plenty to see and do whatever the weather. Tenby is around 30 mins away by car.
If you are following the Dylan Thomas Trail, as well as soaking up the history within the house and around the village, a trip to Laugharne and the Boat House is a must.
